    thnx
the graphics are ***** though, but that just aint my speciality

Yup, the site's 'technische snufjes', as we say that in The Netherlands, are nice. Grafics should be done by a grafical artist, not by technical associates. So there would be no blame to you, Psycho.

And now lets quit the childish fool-around part and be the helpfull kinda ppl we should be.

    Truce?

    *.psd

Maybe you should try to do it with photoshop,
and import the file to flash.
That works great for the graphics!

I work quite a bit with PS 6.0, but like I said, graphics in general are not my speciality (at all, Im grahically disabled (dont try make something funny out of that, zonderzout))
you wanna redesign the entire thing for me?

  8. #48
It's the right tool for the right job. PhotoShop could be used for supporting brilliant Flash movies.

You could try to loose the Bevell & Emboss effect on your site, it would make it look a lot better I'd say...

I know. but Im really not bothered to change it.
I just need someone to redesign the entire thing for me, no matter how hard it try its still gonna look like $hit. That way just a little 1 week project of mine, not even meant to be for whole site or anything. The content was othe old stuff though.

    Whehe,

I said truce, so I will not make funnies out of nothing!

Everybody has his specialty. I really like the bouncing preload thingy you have.

Personally I am more of a HTML, JavaScript, Perl, ASP guru. In addition to webdeveloping I also mastered PhotoShop and some other grafical design programs.

Flash is great for designing animated elements and even entire sites. Since I've mastered JavaScript (and ActionScript is very much alike) I can support Matla with some functionalities in Flash. This way we make a great team!

I mastered AS first and then realized I all of a sudden knew JS too.
The bouncing ball is just one of many flash physics simulation Ive done.
    do you know http://www.sodaplay.com ?
Ive reprogrammed that on flash, but I gotta say that flash just isnt the right for hardcore programming...to damn slow (I dont have a preview online yet)
I need to figure out how to make JavaApplets. that way I can make em nice and fast (wont look hlasf as good though)

Thanks for the wonderful thread, I missed most of the fun because I did not realize that the thread was two pages long. I kept getting emails about replies to the thread but evertime I checked I was on the first page and It was the same old thread. I thought it was a message board bug. That is really lame isn't it.

Everthing in life comes into being grows up, grows old and then dies. We will see the thread in its next life time.

This thread has become the most visited and the most replied-to thread in Flashkit, or at least has potential of becoming just that!

But indeed the 1-2-3 page control could be made more clear for first-time users.

This thread was of specific importance to me because after going through chapter 11 of foundation actionscript, I decided to create a website portfolio for myself using those draggable popup windows with externally loaded content. The original poster was attempting something further with loading the content to a specific frame. Now I got my popup window to word, but the content which is just a test of some animted text is coming inside and outside of the window, there is somewhat of a mirror effect.
I need help!!! please. I have to figure this out to move on. If you need the flas or for anyone that reads this post and can help me out email me at ricardo313@hotmail.com.

    To psycho flasher

Where did you learn to do cool stuff like that.

Secondly, are the content in your pop up windows being loaded from external swfs, because I have been trying that. I downloaded your stuff and I am about to take a look at it right now.

most people look at me very strange when I say this:

Ive been using flash for about 7 months now, and have been programing just as long (just flash). I have totally tought myself with the action script dictionary and nothing else. The physics programming was just incorperating my physics knowedge with flash AS.
7 months of self learning and I have now have a full time job as head flash programmer at http://www.dpi.nl (they do a lot of 3d videos and animations and web stuff(my department, plus presentations for companies and ****))
Ive also been asked to do freelance work for about 75$ an hour now (thats what I asked, dont know a lot about this freelance working though)

    thats about it

Well you are my inspiration. I checked your site out. Are you using externally loaded content for those pop up windows, because that is what I am using. I have created a simple one page( just for experimentation and practise) fla with a button that opens up a pop up draggable window. This window loads a an external swf. Now the graphics are very basic it is the technique that I am trying to master. Note this is all modular and can be dragged and dropped into different files into the future. MY first problem was the positioning of the externl content now my second problem is that the content is coming in doubled almost like a mirror effect. Could you show me how to fix this I could send you the flas

    Let us all enjoy

Ricardo, you should try linking the swf files on this thread, so that more people can see what the problem might me.

You could also try to send the fla file to Matla2000. He's the flash specialist in our team.
