bouncin objects

Anyone know where I can learn how to create a stage full of objetcs that bounce around and off of each other?
Also anyone know of any where on the net that can help me brush up on my maths. So I can do all this stuff myself, and not have to rely on having spasms in front of my screen until one of you kind gents helps me.
