I have produced a flash movie using effects from SWfX that required me to use the loadmovie smartclip for them to work. I was really happy with the resulting movie until I came to prepare it for distribution. I want to make a projector file with all the effects in. The projector file I produced only has the effects in when in the same directory as the .swf format effects files ! Am i doing anything wrong? I don't want to have to send the projector files AND the .swfs out! That would defeat the object!

Is there a work around? Has anyone come across this before?

    HELP!

You are only going to be able to bundle everything into one projector package if you use the Flash 3 effects and import them directly into your movie. As far as Flash is concerned, your effect movies that you want to load don't exist until the playhead reaches the point where you want them to load and it looks for them.

Thanks for your reply, My suspicions were correct! It's a shame that I have to send the extra swfs, I'll just have to make sure I give instructions to whoever I send the files to not to delete the swfs if they want to see the whole thing!

Actually.. you may be able to help answer another question. I have problems with lots of people saying that they can't view my projector files because they have restrictions at work, firewalls and paranoid virus hunters! Do you think I would have the same problem if I sent an html email with swfs embedded? an advantage would be that the swf files are slightly smaller than projectors?... Or would the best option be to send an html email that link to the swfs saved on the server for my website ?

Thanks for your words of wisdom!

I think your best bet may be to put up a folder on your server specifically for your html emails and then send people a link to the pages you upload with all the included bells and whistles. If you are corresponding with only one person, showing them your work, then you could just use the same page and update it FrontPage or something then let them know about the update. I get an alert message even when I try to open a .swf in an email. The permissions are set differently for viewing web pages, so you shouldn't have any problems with just sending them a link to the page.

I'm sure there are other ways to do it, but that would be my suggestion. Good luck

Thanks once more! I have also been told thatI can use FlashJestors Jugglor prog which I'll have to buy, which apparently will let you bundle all the files you want into one exe file. So I might give that a try.. If I can persuade my boss to buy it!

    ?

Just what is Flash Jester Juggler? Do you have a link?
I know what you are going through, and could use the same solution.
    Thanks

I looked into this after you asked about it, and what do you know? It seems that FlashJestor has been quite the busy little beaver building programs to support Flash.

You can look into Jugglor at http://www.***********.com/software/jugglor/index.htm

This will apparently allow you bundle all your files into one neat little package, as well as having a number of other fine features. You can even authenticate your files with Authenticode by Microsoft to help assure those who receive your file in an email that it is free of viruses. The program goes for $99 and if you want to spend even more money, they have some other programs that will allow you to put custom skins on your projector files and even change the icon on the title bar. The list goes on....

    Flash On!
