Hello, I have a few questions about flix before buying it.
1. Do I need to have Macromedia flash, and knowledge on how to use it? I've downloaded it free for 30 days once, and found it difficult to learn. Or will flix work without it.
2. I have a digital cameral that takes mpegs, and a non-digital camcorder that takes avi. Which would be a better source for converting to swf?
Any help or advice for this newbie would sure be apprecitated.
Thanks

that all depends
Hi, it all depends for what you gonna use flix.
If you want to compress the size of your avi/mpeg files by converting them into swf format to view em then at home then the question is NO you dont need flash. (however you need the macromedia standalone player to view the files)
If you want to make a website and publish your videos you might want to learn how to use flash.
and about the question mpeg or avi , i came to the solution that having an avi video as source will make better results then mpeg. Best i came accross was avi (divx low motion compressed) at a resolution of 320*240

Flix outputs SWFs which you can use with or without Flash. Without Flash it's another video format. With Flash you can do cool things like create our video jukebox (www.wildform.com/demos).
To view your Flix encoded SWFs you can drag them into IE or NS or you can view them with the Flix output play function.
AVIs are better than MPEG.
