    I have a few questions...

Im going to use http://www.designinsites.com/flashintroindex.htm as an example.

Where can i find .fla's to sites like that? I am a visual learner and have learned a great deal from .fla's I have found.

What would the fps be for a site like that?

How long would it take to develop a site like that?

What program do they use to make all the images (background images, title bar, etc.)?

    Thanx

    hi.
i don't think you'll find files for that kinda work around to learn from, as you say they're pro's and charge a lot of money for that kinda work, if you do le'me know!
i would imagine it would take a fair while to develope and i guess they must use photoshop for the images.

I don’t really think that you can learn to make something professional. It's more of an observation. After you have been designing a while you learn what looks good and how the achieve the "professional" look.

Nothing on that site is any different then a common effect found in the movies section. The artist just knows what to use and when to use it.

The only advice i can give you is that clean(er) designs = a more profisional look.

    Hope this helps.

my friend you have set your goals very high, the design sites intro is one of the best in the business. An intro like that would take a highly skilled developer many hours, much of it trial and error, chopping, changing and starting bits over and over again (thats what im like anyway!).
What you would be best doing would be to learn about the different aspects of flash design that it has taken to produce this, for example: masking, tweening, imaging, scripting and 3d. Each of these catorgaries has levels within it that are explored in much depth on this site. I doubt as to whether you are likely to get your hands on the fla's, no doubt they are highly protected by copyrights anyway, but its more than likely you will find tutorials on this site that will explain each part in detail. practice little bits until you get your head round them, and in time you will be able to peice different techniques together to create something 'professional'

indeed photoshop would have been used here, maybe a 3d program such as Swift or Bryce, maybe a text effects editor like Swish or Flax, Flash of course, and possibly others like director, dreamweaver and fireworks, each will play its own part in the big picture.

i assume theres a whole team working on it - if its just one person, it would take him / her a loooong time to piece together the site. normally different sections of the site are made as different swf files, so it makes sense to have different people working on different sections at the same time. multimedia companies usually have specialists - so trained photoshop experts will work on background images, while vector artists and flash programmers work on the site. a project leader usually manages the workflow.

a fabulous source for really high end .flas is on the devlab site (http://devlab.swift3d.com). u can really learn a lot from their flas which are available for download. they are mainly intros, but still lot to be learned.

    Hi there!

I guess the framerate is around 30 fps. The pics are made with photoshop(I think). They use a loooooot of hard to learn masking techniques.

Maybe you should ask your questions to mr. Eric Jordan, the designer of 2advanced(http://www.2advanced.com). I think his email is there too.

    Success with your questions!!

yeah, it is more than likely to have been done by a team, but equally could have been done by one person. Me and Rugbystud are doing a site at the moment (check the preloader thing in my footer) i do all the backend flash stuff like actionscript and motion animation and then he does (or will do, when he gets his ass in gear) the graphics. He's a graphic designer by trade and his talent is second to none - check this http://www.heaveninyourhands.com and http://www.phatkube.com this is his work, but as you'll see - no animation. My graphic design skills are not amazing and his actionscripting skills arent either so it only makes sense to team up and get the best of both worlds. More professional outfits would have different teams doing graphics, scripting, html, sound, etc, etc. It clearly saves time and makes for a better end product but if you could do all these things yourself and as earlier mentioned you had a whole load of time on your hands theres no reason you couldnt do it all yourself.
Nearly all ppl on FK will have a site that they done on their own.
    happy flashing
