mailto: and the resulting windows

Here's the deal (Its probably not difficult, but its being overlooked nonetheless):

I am using the mailto: in the "getURL" command, when the button is clicked to create email, the mail window opens like it should. However, it also opens an extra browser window that says something to the effect that it was unable to find that URL.

Obviously, its not gonna find the URL!! ITS EMAIL!!

How can I keep that window from opening??

this has happened to me but everything sorted itself out when either :

the flash movie was embedded in an HTML page
The page was published to a web server
