This is my wishlist for the next version/update of Flix:

    1. The ability to set the looping of the movie for a certain number as opposed to loop and no loop.

    2. Preloader. The ability to set the movie so that it will load completely before it starts playing.

Those are my main two. Who's got a good wish?

    Wishlist

    1. Support for Realaudio- and Realvideo-Files
    2. Convert only parts of the File, for example:
converting starts at 1.30 minutes and goes to 2.00 minutes.
    3. A variable in the Swf-File, that is changing the value at the end of playing...
    4. The option "match source", to convert the swf-file in the same quality as the input-file
    5. smaller filesizes... *g*
    greetings,
    Megaron

My ideas for the next version are :

    - render the output as 2 colour (user specified) vectors - with control over how images are rendered (aka Adobe Streamline). This will allow animators to use layers of video-esque scenery..

    - ability to render HTML output that contains basic start/ stop/fw/rw/pause functions

    - speed up rendering

    that's it for now..

    update

Real does not allow you to import their format to be encoded into a different format. You can encode to RealVideo, but not open or import with your program. Licensing issues. My bad.

That sucks. Now I know why Real Audio really sucks. I was actually trying to figure that out the other day and just gave up.

    Batch Processing

I want Flix 2.0 to have the ability to batch process a group of files. I would want to put in the settings, select multiple vidoes, and have it encode them all at once.

That would save a ton of time.

I'm very excited about Flix so far!! what an awesome concept! But..
1)Yes!! Flix totally needs a PRELOADER! setting. I know its possible to set the parent SWF to stay at a certain frame until frameX of the external SWF is loaded but some production time could be saved if there was a preloader setting inside Flix.

On the Flix website Wildform claims that now we can "stream video ... without a download..." - am i missing something
    OR
does the only way to stream SWF/Flix1.5 encoded video without a download entail manually creating a preloader in the empty movie clip (that would recieve the external swf) in the parent flash movie (as opposed to doing it with Flix)?

here's an example of a 3-minute Flix-encoded SWF targeted at 56k users - with no preloader at all:
    http://www.theexitrock.com/flash/gimme56.html

on a 56k modem it doesn;t play smoothly until the entire thing is cached.

    2) It would be awesome if on the SWF panel inside Flix we could place our variable on the last frame of the SWF that's to be encoded

Multiple videos into one swf file

Flix 2.0 would rock if it would have the ability to take several video files and combine them into one swf file.

    Here's my wish list.

The ability to set key frames to be higher quality. Like the Company Logo appears. I'd like that frame to be higher quality than the rest.

    WISHLIST

I want a movieplayer to play movies in swf format. Since you cannot import a movie into flash you must call the movie. That is scripting which is difficult. I would like a template for anybody who purchases the product to be able to just name the file and that is the one that will play. A matter of fact I would even pay for an easy to use template like that.

    Hi.
Regarding the pre-loader, one of our users has posted a preloader for Flix at:
    http://www.flashkit.com/movies/Third...08/index.shtml
Regarding the players, you can either download our video jukebox smartclip (Flash 5 required) at:
    www.wildform.com/smartclips
or you can download the latest version of Flix (1.52) which contains 2 pre-built players for Flash 4 and Flash 5 (the files are installed into your Wildform>Flix directory).

Many thanks to everyone posting their suggestions for Flix 2.0 on this thread. We really appreciate the input and will do our best to include as many features as you want in our next update. If you would like, feel free to email me your suggestions directly at jb@wildform.com.
    Best,

    1) ability to add variables on different frames
    2) ability to call a function, or goto a frame at the end of the playing movie
    3) change "insert black frame at start" to allow choosing colors (or choosing the movie's background color).
    4) ability to link flix movies together (this could also be done with #2)
    5) possible ability to include a linked Flash 5 .as actionscript script file on a given frame
    6) add different links to different frames
    7) import already created .swf files into the beginning and end of the flix movie (for example, to play an intro)
    8) ability to loop various parts of the movie, including a rewind function (play until end, rewind 10 seconds-aka play the flash backwards or reverse frames, play til end, repeat)
    9) built-in sliderbar with start/stop buttons for controlling the movie's playback (ala any of the media player plugins). the design has to look decent too

basically, I really just want a lot more scripting support.

I think that taking a certain part of a movie would be most important.. like from 2mins to3mins and leave the rest out... also some btns (fst frwd, rewnd) would be great that the user can check off or on. And some more presets would be good!

    Transparency. Transparency. Transparency.

I'me trying to have a person talking on a greenscreen. There should be an option (like PNG sequence) for selecting a background color to be transparent. this way when you load the swf in, it's just what you wanted on the screen, and not the SQUARE/RECTANGLE.

Wildform, get together with the people who make:

Primatte for After Effects and figure out a way to do this and you'll be as big as macromedia (bigger). It can be done!

    My wish List

Well my wish list is very small actually there is no list I would just like wildform to create a Flix activeX control for developers so they may add flix functionality to their programs using VB or C++ or any other language that supports activeX.

And I don’t mind if they require licensing it.
