How 'bout this then: an export plug-in for Premiere 6 that allows you to encode the entire project or just the work area!

    Now THAT would be sweet!

Flix is fantastically easy to use.

But it also hurts like hell trying to incorporate it into a preloader or player. In 3 minutes I knew how the program worked, but months later I'm still wrestling with preloaders.

And no offence but I find your demo preloaders obscure. They're either of an odd size, include lots of useless frills like fading text and drop-down bars, or are simply so full of extra layers that it's hard to tell where to insert the actual file that counts. I'm sure Flash gurus have no problems, but then there's everyone else. And there's always more beginners out there than experts.

So my big wish is: make some better way to handle preload options. Sure it must interface with Flash and the hard-core options must still be there for the experts, but how about some simple (but modifiable) parameters for beginners?

Perhaps there could even be a second "plug-in" program for Flix - I'd happily pay. This would be a sort of modular preloader and jukebox program. You select the parameters via sliders and tabs (just like the parent program Flix). For example:
    - select percentage to preload before play
    - display total file size y/n
    - display percentage progress y/n
    - add progress movie y/n

In most of these categories (eg: "display total file size") if you select "yes" then you could go to a little panel (like SWFX) where you choose size, colour, font etc of the display type

In the "add progress movie" you could select from some pre-made progress movies like little bars or clocks and drop that onto the loading screen.

After all this you then export the movie and end up with a finished file with preloader, preloader movie and display options embedded. You then put this into your webpage.

An even more expanded version for jukeboxes would be even better, but I'd better stay calm for now....

I wouldn't expect such a thing would be importable in any form into Flash, but then who needs to ! You now have everything you need. This would also be great because you'd capture market share of non-Flash owners. If this non-importable option bothered experts, no worries because they'd do it the old complex way.

I'd pay another US$50 or perhaps even double that if it worked well. And I could use it immediately on the website at my work.

Ah, what a sweet, sweet, dream.......

    Transparency

Well - this thread was a long time dead but obviously contains lots of good thought (and, I find, when you search very often this thread comes up in the results).. so I'm wondering JB whether you could give us a quick outline on what's been implemented from the wishlist.

I'm particularly wondering about transparency - I've only ever found a workaround for greenscreen with background Flash content by giving After Effects anything that should behind the object/person for it to be rendered as part of the video. Obviously this is far from ideal.

I'm guessing this is still not possible but is there a plan to implement it?

Also - batch converting multiple video/audio files to a symbol library with linkage name rather than to the timeline - surely not a difficult feature to implement?

I'd love to hear thoughts on this

    Hi.
The way Flash video is created makes supporting chroma-key quite difficult.
Right now you are best off creating your finished chroma-key video in a program like Premier and then converting that output to Flash using Flix.
There are currently no plans to implement batch converting multiple video/audio files to a symbol library as we have very few requests for it.
