I created a button that has text on it but whenever I test it, the text area of the button isn't clickable only the graphic behind it. Anybody know why and how I can remedy this problem?

The 4th keyframe of your button should be labeled "Hit". Insert a keyframe here and draw your "hit" area for the button - kinda like a "hotspot". Just make sure that you draw a rectangle (or whatever shape) the same size that you want your button to be. This should take care of your problem. Hope this helps!

OK, I did that. But when I preview it, it still treats it as text. I can actually highlight the text in the movie and replace it with text that I type from the keyboard. Any suggestions?

Ummm...when you view your button properties (up, over, down, hit) do you see the text? If not, you need to make the button with the text on it, a symbol (with button properties)....then it should work.
