Is this intentional ?
Using the Merged Shape as a Mask . . . Here is my problem,
If you draw an ellipse and a box . . . Overlap them just slightly . . . Then merge them . . . Then use that shape as a mask . . . Why is the section of the ellipse and box that overlap not part of the mask ?? Also, why is the section that is overlapped not part of the shape period ? (meaning no color allowed where they intersect) ...
Just curious . . . Thanks

I'll assume that because there's no "feedback for beta 2" thread, this thread is going to serve as both. Will post feedback/comments here. Thanks, Will

First of all, it's looking very stable so far, so great job so far, guys!
Merged shape overlap fill cancellation, yes, I found this also. In effect it almost creates a new, unfilled shape. And yep, the intersected area won't mask.
Ideally, a merged shape would just lump all the shapes together, and just "stack" them wherever they intersect, i.e., leave them looking the way they looked before they were merged. Is this possible? Actually, the ideal thing might be to have a dialog box with options when merge is selected:
1. "stack merged shapes"
2. "overlap cancel"
3. "overlaps only"
But if it were only one way, I think I'd prefer to have the two shapes stack where they over overlap in their original stacking order, rather than cancel each other out.
But if changing this would delay an exportable release in any way, I vote for keep it as it is for now, it is interesting and it's another tool to use.
The program is looking stable, and that's the most important thing!

Possible bug:
Sprites do not seem to accept effects on the main timeline.
The Mask and the Merge shapes seem to be working great!
Think that the overlap feature may give some very interesting effects.
This program just keeps getting better!
Thanks Swish Team.
Cheers,
Dawn

Once again..what is the best practice for downloading V2 updates. Uninstall previous first? Download update then uninstall previous? keep the bloody lot..or any of the above.
Just some good housekeeping advise required.
Thanks

Flashopper gives a good little tut on it in one of the two Beta 1 threads (cannot remember which one).
Alternatively, go the the macromedia site and look at the docs/tutes on Tell Target there .. it works the same way (eg
http://www.macromedia.com/support/fl...ell_target.htm
http://www.macromedia.com/support/fl...get_level0.htm
The brave and adventurous might likt to try to emulate the example shown at
http://www.macromedia.com/support/fl...pe/kscope.html
SWiSH doesn't do the shape tweening that is used, but other animation effects could be used (eg. 3D spin and camera effects can change the apparent shape of an object .. if you want to apply it to a vector image, put the image in a group and apply the 3D spin to the group)

No much help I'm afraid unless you can tell me what to do to make it happen.

Eww .. does anyone else get that? It could be rleated to the versions of the MFC dll's you have. Perhaps we should be distributing the V6 SP5 DLL's that we use to develop it.

Hung Hsin tells me that he's made a new Beta available that fixes the problem with sprites not moving.
http://www.swishzone.com/SetupSwish200b2a.exe
I imagine the download site will be modified soon so that future downloads will get the new beta instead. If not, get the Beta 2A directly via the link above.
