    Is it possible to prevent the cursor from changing to a hand when it rolls over a button instance ?

    I have come up with some hair brained schemes including inserting the button within an MC and attaching another MC which looks like the cursor to the cursor when it rolls over the MC containing the button. this works but is a pain in the a**e.

    Is there a simpler way ?

    If you make a custom cursor the hand won't appear. Try to create an exact copy of mouse cursor in a movieclip.

    Drag the movieclip into your movie and select the mc and not the keyframe.
    assign this action to the mc:

    onClipEvent (load) {
    Mouse.hide();
    startDrag ("", true);
    }

    I've allready done this as a workaround, just wondered if there is a way to fudge it without all the effort !

    Just to explain further the button is loaded over the top of the whole screen to disable other buttons.

    I've got a work aropund as follows:

    1.cursor shaped MC name "arrow"

    2.keyframe at start of movie which sets arrow _visible to false

    The following script attached to the large "cover" button:

    Code:
    on (rollOver) {
    	mouse.hide();
    	setProperty ("arrow", _visible, true);
    	startDrag ("arrow", true);
    }
    on (rollOut) {
    	mouse.show();
    	stopDrag ();
    	setProperty ("arrow", _visible, false);
    }
    seems to work fine but it's a bit convoluted !
