I've made all my download files zip format. If any Swish users were having problems downloading you may go back and try again. It should work.

I also fixed my last LoadMovie example. A member told me that it wasn't working properly. You'll now see the moving stars and the mouse effect.

(Joe)...thanks. I didn't know about the other effects, but
it would be helpful to include the actual example URL with
your latest posts to expedite a quick viewing :-) :-) :-)

    This might help ...

Let's begin brainstorming. You need to create a movie.
What you need to do is plan ahead.

Get 4 transparent pieces of paper. Theat are all the same size.
On the first paper, write "Menu" at the top.
On the 2nd paper, draw a big spiral so it will take the whole page. Now spin paper #2 at its center. Just think of it as a spiraling effect.
On the 3rd paper, draw a man with a happy face at the center of the paper.
On the 4th paper, draw a speaker font at the bottom of the paper.

    Now:
Place the 1st transparent paper on your table. Followed, by #2, 3, and 4. Stack them on top of each other. So that they are align from tha top left corner. Now if you look at all your transparencies you will see a "Menu" on top of the page, a spiraling effect taking up the whole page, a happy face in the center, and a speaker at the bottom of the page. This is your website.
    _______________________
#1 is the main movie. It's at Level 0 by default. #2 is at Level 1. #3 is at Level 2. #4 is at Level 3. These Levels may be different they are not written in stone. If your'e loading a movie that fades out, you may load another movie, in the same Level, after the fade.

Now, let's see what will happen if we had 3 transparencies the same size and 1 half the size. Again, a total of 4. Go ahead draw the "Menu", the face, and the "spiraling effect" on the same size paper. On the half size paper place the speaker font at the bottom of the page. Now stack the transparencies on top of each other. You will notice that your speaker font is no longer at the bottom of your "website". This is because you did not use the same height/width.
    I hope this helps.

I've modified my last LoadMovie example. Check it out. New text effect by FLASHtyper and an on/off sound.

    'power consuming' ... loadmovie?

Can anyone tell me how the LoadMovie examples are loading? Is it slow, fast, sluggish, "power hungry".

  8. #48
have been looking for the latest version of your loading movie : there is no "power request", and it's going very fast for a 360 Ko to load...

I will study your exemple a bit...

let me know Velez, you seems to be a "warrior" with Swish, maybe could you find a solution for my problem :

    Cedric,
I suggest you use the LoadMovie.
    Make 2 movies:
1st (main) will be the movie you have now minus all the buttons and sound.
2nd will have all the play/pause buttons and sound. (You must load this movie at its proper place in the timeline in main movie.) Building this movie is the tricky part. You want your buttons to highlight on rollover and play on press. It's possible but it's a little complicated to explain and time consuming. I suggest you experiment with this part of the movie. Check my examples to learn the mouseover techniques.
    I hope this helps.
I checked your site. Very good.
One of the coolest menu I've seen.

(Joe) - Thanks for the detailed explanation. That finally
dawned on me last night. However, for the situations when
we do NOT want movie "transparency", it doesn't seem that
anyone has been able to yet explain "daisy chaining" .swf
movies together in Swish with the Load/Unload command.

If a person has a 1MB .swf, for example, but you want to
break that down into 5 separate 200KB chuncks. then the
ideal thing (after initial preload of the 1st 200KB one),
is to have Movie #2 begin preloading DURING THE TIME
    MOVIE #1 IS ACTUALLY PLAYING.

Has anyone figured this out yet, and exactly HOW TO THEN
"UNLOAD" ... THAT'S "UNLOAD" Movie #1 so that there will
NOT be any more Movie #1 playing W-H-I-L-E Movie #2 is
playing??? I'm assuming that all the requisite settings
for the .swf player can be set in the initial (separate)
    "preloader" (a/k/a Movie #0).

    Thanks.

    Thanks!

Like I said. Thanks for all the SWI's! i'll do the same, once I have something meaningful to offer. I never would have thought I could do this stuff. Now I see the possibilities. Thanks again.

Flash777...sounds like you got it figured out!
"daisy chaining" should be pretty easy...
I'd say "preload content" of your loadmovie#1 w/your main movie then "loadmovie" #1 in level 1 to start it playing as you "preload content" of loadmovie#2...then "unloadmovie" #1
from level 1 & "loadmovie" #2 in level 2 to start it playing & so on...movie #3 in level 3 etc.
from what I know this should work!
    hope it does?...hehehe...ziggy

Ziggy...that's kinda where I've been going. Decided to
start with a "Transparency" sample from Joe's examples
and am going to post that to a new thread w/Unload :0)
Thanks. BTW, still some broken demo links on your site!

Thanks almark. I appreciate your comments.
Wait 'till you see what's coming.

flash777 - it's gonna grow after I show my new movie. Effects not seen in this forum. Well ... none that I've seen. I hope you like it.

I could be wrong on the "not seen in this forum".
    I doubt it though.

Thanks Velez, seeing .swi's of others helps me a lot, I'm just a starting Swish'er.

Deselect Loop Movie under Export tab and make sure you put a 'Stop' command at the end of your movie.
