Thread: Button Action

  1. #1
Hey all, I need some detailed help on loading a movie. Within my website, I have a default page located at:

    http://www.insidewebdesign.com/contents.html

At the end of the movie, a 'contact us' button appears. I want the user to be able to click the button which will call in a new scene and run it in the current window below my company name. Nothing seems to be going the right way for me...

    Thanks

The best way to do this is to use a movie clip and Tell Target it. Do NOT use scenes at all - they will cause you major problems at some stage. Use movie clips instead.

Here's how you can do it.

    Create a movie clip :
First frame blank with a Stop action -This is so the viewer can't initially see it on the stage.

    Frame 2 onwards :
    The animation you require.

Place the movie clip on the stage under your company name and give it an instance name of "contact" (double click it on the stage).

Now on the "contact us" button put the following script.

    On (Release)
    Begin Tell Target ("/contact")
    Go to and Play (2)
    End Tell Target
    End On

Let me know if you need more,

    Rich.
