    But what I mean is, the walls are made up of (hypothetically speaking) blocks 1x1x1 arranged at a height of 7 blocks. Say I wanted to add a moose head in the block that is 4 high, how do I do that? The only array is for the whole height of blocks, not individual ones? Whould I have to make a new block of 7 stacked, then create height=1?

    OK, this'll be my last post for a while, as I'm off on holiday. I may located a PC to check email and so I might check in and see whats happening.

    The shop now is fully functional, it has bookcases and old wooden cupboards. Items you want to sell Binary should be placed on top of these cupboards, there are 3 of them you will see.

    The only problem is that the avatar can go through the furniture. Can someone have a check through the code and remove the bit that tells it if there is a height of 1, then revert to the sloping avatar (the one where it is going up a hill on the map). I'm positive this is the problem and I'm sure it will be easy to sort out.

    I can't wait to see my shop linked into the start of the game after the intro movie, it will be brilliant!

    Later (unless someone else wants to do it), I will try to add a shopkeeper avatar who randomly moves behind the counter. Then we can put a character onto him and voila, a completed shop.

    How are we gonna use the shop? Will it be just for show, or will you be able to have money and purchase items? That is a must in my opinion because it will add both puzzle and interactive elements to the game.

    I wish everyone the very bets of luck, lets hope it isn't needed!

    Ok I finished the GUI, the zoom, and scrolling...

    The graphics of the "menubar" can be changed this is only an Idea I had... since I like lizards, dragons etc...

    *Im not posting the FLA because its really big... (2.8 MB)...
    And all has a lot of MC's and pages and pages of code...
    So if anyone takes it and changes things... it might generate a lot of diferent version... and will make keeping track of the latest and best version very hard...

    So when more textures maps etc... are added I will add all of the menu features to the new FLA's...


    Please give me some input on the features...
    The list bellow lists all of the features I :

    -Zooming = Used either by the buttons in the menubar or by pressing either of the 2 "+" and "-" keys on the keyboard...
    I limited the zooming to X5 from the original size...

    -Scrolling = When you are zoomed you can hold the mouse button and drag the mouse to the direction you want the map to move... the arros in the cursor change to show the current direction... when moving I sugest to make the movie's quality to low, so it moves better... Later I will make it automatic (the change of quality when the map scrolls)...

    -G.U.I = The dragon interface... (the theme is changable)...

    Its good. Heres my input.

    - Great rotate buttons, thats really cool.

    - I think the zoom should be like x2 because x5 is too large an increment. Good thinking about the quality when you get down to 5 times zoom though

    - I like the little green animation behind the zoom. Little things make the most impression, methinks!

    - How do we link two "maps" together?

    - WHERE IS BINARY HIT AND PSYCHOFLASHER??? lol

    The increment is X1,X2,X3...X5 when you get to X5 you cant zoom any more...

    how about zooming out??

    x0.75 or Xn (assuming n < 1 and n > 0; incrementing at .25's)?

    OK my final update. The shop now has music and animation. DONT MAKE THE SHOP ROTATE - it will be better if a shop scene stays from one perspective only. GOod luck guys cya in a while.

    I originally made it so it ZoomsOut but I restricted it so it wont because you can already see the entire map...

    Hey guys,

    Can people send me textures??? pleeeeaaase, I'm trying to see what we have so I can put then in the map generator! I'd like to get this done so we can see what we need and start making some worlds!!

    Hi guys,

    I am here to bring you a little bad news, (I think) lol.

    After looking at the devlopment of this game I came to realise that it isn't really to the standards that I originally hoped to achieve from this project.

    I have decided to try to create a similar project using Shockwave. I have never used Shockwave before and if anyone is interested in getting involved in this project and wants to learn how to use director with me. Then I can get you a FREE copy (please note this is not legal and I cannot be held responsible for what you do with the crack) lol!

    As for Enchantment, I would like to see if anyone would like to take my place in managing the project. Anyone who wishes to take this over should send me a mail to the above address and I will post whats happening to the project when I come to a decision!

    I came to this decision as I want to create a game which is fully 3d and the limitatons of Flash make this impossible. SORRY GUYS.

    Geez I take a break from my hol and find this bad news!

    If PSYCHOFLASHER and BEHP will still help me I would loved to continue this game. We can get more people in and hey presto we can make it work, one would hope!

    Well I'll be back in 8 days but I am still obviously recieving emails so I'll check back here as many times as poss to see what everyone thinks.

    I sure hope that you will continue Sebastian!

    If you want to continue this game BEHP, would you please keep me informed on it's progress from time to time? I would appriciate it and I will keep you informed regards to the new project that I am starting!

    I am trying to gain as much info on programming in Shockwave and if anyone knows of any recources please could they let me know!

    Since I dont have time to RUN the project... If anyone else runs it Ill keep adding and improving when I can...

    If no one can run the project then I guess the project will close...

    As for doing the game in real 3D in shockwave...
    I think that if you dont know nothing bout shockwave then you should start with something less dificult until you get the hang of it...

    I can take over the project in 2 weeks if that is ok with everybody? Of course my knowledge of flash is not as high as everyone else here :-( BUT I know the ins and out of ENCHANTMENT and it's being coming along fine up until now.

    What dya say BEHP and PSYCHOFLASHER? Wanna help me?
