Best font for HTML design

Everyone has a font or two that they always use when desingning a web page - mines verdana.

But are there anyothers that you love to use on a page (or are there any you hate).

Helvetica and Arial for crisp letters.

And I have some grungy types I just adore

I usually use Verdana or Trebuchet for HTML or regular text and Kroeger or hooge for Flash and Banner design.

That isn't really supported is it

Haven't heard of Kroeger and Hooge though. What style is that (or send a TTF if you feel the urge)

Hooge is in my Footer .... get them from http://www.miniml.com they are bitmap fonts, but ironically work well in vector Flash files (as long as you follow the rules!!)

On the main topic, I'm a Verdana man (has a better x-height than Arial)

For HTML I always use <font face="verdana,news gothic,arial,heltevica,serif">, normally in size 1 or 2.

I agree - gotta admit that you just can NOT beat verdana!

And Times used even more then Arial .... but doesn't make them better! (Just means people choose the simple option)

Though why people use Times in there Flash files is quite beyond me!

I have never (even in my early web years) considered using Frontpage. I've been with Dreamweaver since version 2 and before that relied on hardcoding and Hotdog

Some programs just plainly suck.

for text in html, verdana, then helvetica, arial etc.

for images in html..depends but my favorite font is franklin gothic Demi condensed..as you can see by my site(s).
