Okay if I have your movie background WHITE, I want my masking layer over top to be BLACK. But it seems to be set to the same color at the background of the movie? CAN I CHANGE THAT? It will make it SOO much easier!

    OKAY! Lets try again!

-My MOVIE BACKGROUND is set to WHITE
-I put BLACK text on the FIRST layer
-I create a SECOND layer, and make a MASK
-NOW the FIRST LAYER is white, the SECOND LAYER (mask) IS WHITE ALSO!

CAN I MAKE THE SECOND LAYER (THE MASK) ANOTHER COLOR!
IT ALWAYS TURNS INTO THW MOVIE BACKGROUND COLOR?
    GET IT?!?!

    DUH !!!!!!!!!

Since you are a senior member i don't think this is what you want to hear but......

Couldn't you just fill it with a different color using the fill tool (the bucket)

Yep that's what i thought so
But that's what comes up in my head after reading your message

Don't think this is what you where truggling with.

But to be helped you will have to give more info on what you want to do or give an example.
