Hey, I just registered as a member and I guess this is the place to showcase my site, which, if I say so myself, is pretty damn cool.
I did up my site in just one evening (!) with a combination of HTML and a program called Mix-FX. It's like flash without using flash. Check it out y'all!

It's great that I found this program cos I don't have Flash yet but with this one you can actually make real cool effects real easy. I even got a background picture behind a text effect, all done in HTML!
Anyway, you can get it from their website at http://www.mix-fx.com - download it for free.

Hey,
I've just created a new intro for my website, but I'm not sure what to do with the other pages. I'd like to have some comments and suggestions to make it better.

Note that V2 is SWiSH is available now. However, if you go to the swishzone site to find out, make sure you clear your internet cache as otherwise you may still see the old site details there.

Thanks for letting me know. I might buy Swish as well, but first I'd like to play around with HTML and Mix-FX as I believe that a good website doesn't need many Flash animations at all. Just a couple of small animations to give it some spice will do it for me right now.

the site looks great. though the intro is a little vague. it didn't got my attention realy. when you make a intro, you need to give the viewer a message. whats this site about, or wat's my view on a certain topic. this one isn't about anything i suppose (not trying to spam here, just honestly telling you what i think).
i especially like the thing on the left! and the deep purple color is great to.
good work!

I agree with the above comments. Somekind of textual introduction will be useful. Maybe, you can just copy the first few lines from the "home" page into the intro. Some pictures will be nice as well.
Anyway, I also like the colors and the simplicity of the design.

Hey, you heared this before but i think you still emphesising it. If you make a site without flash, that meens there are no swf's. that is a licenced extension of Macromedia's and thus meaning Flash Player is needed to view them. So i still think you should give credit to Flash even though you did not use the program, but some other 3rd party program. Also, i think it is a very good idea to learn flash. it may take some more time to do some of the same effects, but along with that, you get scripts in your sites and that can add a lot to your site. I really think you should give Flash a try, you wont regret it, i didn't.

There is a distinction between "Flash" (a Macromedia authoring tool, there are other authoring tools), "Flash Player" (a Macromedia player for SWF files, there are other players) and the "Shockwave-Flash (SWF)" file format (an open standard for vector-based animation).
The point here is that you can make useful SWF animations without using "Flash" (the authoring tool) .. there is no need to "give credit" to a tool that wasn't even used. One could give credit to MacroMedia for making the SWF format open so one isn't forced to use MM tools to create them.
Saying Flash should get credit because you're using Flash player to view it would be a bit like giving credit to Microsoft for your HTML web page because you can view it using Internet Explorer
