I've been playing with the V2 beta 5b for the past several weeks and Beta 6 since yesterday's release. They've both coexisted on both my PC's without a problem. As a matter of fact, when Beta 6u was released this morning, I had 1.52, Beta 5b, Beta 6, and Beta 6u on one of my PC's. They all install to their own directories, so that allows them to coexist. (Don't try to have any two of them open at the same time - that will almost certainly crash your machine.) So I would tell you not to worry - you should be able to have both 1.52 and Beta 2 on your machine. BTW - After installing Beta 6u this morning, I then uninstalled Beta 5b and the original Beta 6 - that doesn't seem to have caused any problems.

Experiencing some problems with this beta version and am assuming it is because of the various changes that were made.

I.E. Tutorial on Creating First Movie

I went to the second section of this tutorial and inserted the images ok, but when I went to the vector images where it says "Add Content" logo.swf, I could not find any file with that name.

Also, in trying to follow the tutorial in the first part of the tutorial where it says "Test/Player", my test in player and test in browser are grayed out. Is my beta program working correctly or will these features be available only with the release of Version 2.

Inserted text(in fact just left the default Text there)

1 I grouped it as a shapes
2 I edited the colour of the individual letters, some with gradient fill, one with tiled image (default swish image)
3 Put a transform scale in on it, it worked
4 Right clicked an individual letter.
5 Selected Properties
6 Crash

You're right Ladylogic - the logo.swf is missing. I'm sure David will note this and resolve it. As for the Test in Player and Browser, those features are disabled in the beta. You can preview your movie by using the play button on the toolbar.

Create text or leave default, "Text" modify, group as shape, fill dialog box comes up, but no gradients can be applied. If they cant be applied to a grouped shape then this box shouldnt be here because it implies that it can be done.

I imported a NotePad text file and preformed a Slide in From Bottom. The text move in a straight line to its position. Then I added Slide Out to left on the same object. Now the first effect waver in to its position.

My first v2beta 6 project was to edit a 1.52 file.
The file contains 12 images, one of which is a gif. all others being jpegs.
In v2b6 the gif does not show.
When the same file is reopened in 1.52 its fine.
BTW I loaded other files into v2b6 with Gifs that all showed.
I will zipp the swi if you want to check it out.

You can fix it by:
1. Open the Slide in/out effect dialog.
2. Select the Motion tab.
3. Change the Path at Key to Sharp.

In the next release, the Slide in/out effect's Path at Key option will be Sharp by default.
