i think there needs to be the ability to play pieces of a scene, rather than the entire scene. when you get a long scene with multiple elements it is tedious to watch the first 30 seconds over and over and over again just to test the last 10-15 seonds, etc.
also, in the "font choice" option, it would sweet if the choice box would drop back down to the most recent letter, when testing various fonts you always have to start over again at "A"...many windows, v/b based sofware include the "recent letter" feature.

Being able to make scroll bars

another good idea would be a "if movie loaded" tag to check to see if the movie is loaded on the computer and if so skips the download scene

Just a thought . . .
First of all, How is everyone? Yes, I'm new to the threads.
Here's a wish list thought . . . How bout a built in feature that would create an "explosion effect" for images.
Don't know if that's possible, but it would be a handy effect to have around.
Or, here's another . . . Once again, I'm new, so this might already be possible, . . .but how about the ability to change background colors per scence, instead of a constant "General" canvas color

Play part of a scene solution
To play part of your scene, just add a temporary action command at the first frame of a scene or a movie to jump specifically where in the movie or scene you want to start -- then you can avoid all the footage you don't need to see. When finished, delete the action, and you're back to normal...

SWISH WISH
Hi
I get too large filesizes when using music in my presentations. So what about the ability to import a streaming soundfile instead of MP3's (like RealMedia files).
This is also very convenient for those with a limited budget. because You can make streaming audio with RealNetworks free RealConverter, and these files play fast and nice on any homepage (works very well, when surfing with the standard installation of MSExplorer, wich most people use).
The problem may be when it comes to controlling the start of the sound and time this with animtions. But I would anyway like to have an option to use streaming audio as background music to a rolling swish presentation.
anyway: SWISH RULES

There is a way around it. Use letter 'n' in the wingdings font. Transform it's scale and choose your bg colour. Make sure you always stack it at the bottom of your scene. You can also achieve interesting fades by using this method.
Here's an example along with an .SWI.

Better handling of sound. Allow fade in, fade out and volume control.
A better color picker. Maybe something based on HEX like Dreamweaver and Flash - that allows you to use you own color palette.
A full screen setting. Something that lets the swish object fill the browser window (like flash does).
Some support for a preloader. I have no idea what. Just something. lol

going up!

hi,
If i was to wish for anything it would be (if possible of course) to be able to add all the current effects swish has to offer (and any more you may add in version 2) to a txt file.
So if I explain myself further to have effects which are linked to a txt file for dynamic changes. so if you change your text file the effects will work around the changes. Not sure if I explained myself very well, anyway, if this happens it will be very welcome indeed!

Another late reply...
Only one wish, huh? I guess that would be smoother effects!

Wish List
Im new to the 'Swish' thing, but I have
a few Ideas:
1.) How about a grid in the design window, or a snap
to grid feature so it is easier to line things up in
design mode.
2.) Somebody asked for this one, I just want to second
the request. An action to do the IF LOADED.
3.) Maybe this one is already available, but I cant figure
out how to do it... Rotate/Spin imported images/graphics
ie: like a coin flipping in the air.
(so a question to: can you put Animated GIF files in Swish
and have the animation work ?)
Thats all for now.

OK...I screwed up and started another list when I couldn't
find this one...so deleted it and am reposting here.
1. Cut some kind of code deal with KoolMoves & SWFX
and provide import and functional capabilities to
use that cool stuff within Swish (sooooo much easier
than Flash).
2. When copying & pasting multiple scene text entries...
a "Global Update" feature would be nice to NOT have
to go in and individually change the X & Y coordinates.
Like, especially when you've got 10 or more of them
to do in one scene like I just did simply to move the
whole sequence just a bit. Yes, "Global" is cool.
3. Before the final click that generates an 'html' file
(very nice feature), some kind of option to add text
to that page would be MOST helpful. It might also
solve some of the search engine thread concerns, and
eliminate having to reopen the page up and do editing
in another venue. Even to push a button an import
'html' code already done to be inserted would be nice.
4. Maybe I think too "automated", but with all the trouble
some of us have had with the "Preloader" thing, it would
be E-X-T-R-E-M-E-L-Y helpful to have ONE BUTTON TO PUSH
that says: "Do you want the whole movie to load before
playing? YES or NO". Swish can generate a complete
'html' page automatically, and this one thing alone
would sure be great. I mean, there's gotta be an easy
way for Swish itself to know what the last frame is in
the whole thing and just crank out the action code(s).
Even, Swish could ask us if we don't want the whole
flick to load, what percentage...and calculate it all
out (I think that's what computers & software do :-)

The one thing that I'd like to add at this time is the ability to minimize the swish window without out loosing the preview window. When working on a large project (640 X 480) it's a pain trying to see the whole preview. Or can this be done now and I just haven't figured out how?

projector function
Just adding this from another thread in case it got missed: ability to export a swish file as an swf projector (if possible)...

Improvement needed in Help files. More CONCRETE SPECIFIC
step-by-step working examples. What I read from the Help
file on "load" movie, leads me to believe the following,
but it does not seem to work:
3 short movies to link together...
1. Movie A ... add a "Load Movie" action somewhere on the
Timeline to load Movie B as "Level 1" ???
2. Movie B ... add a "Load Movie" action somewhere on the
Timeline to load Movice C as "Level 2" ???
3. Movie C ... WHAT to add to get it to cycle back to
Movie A again? Would this be somewhere
on the Timeline, an action to reload
Movie A as "Level 0" ???
Whatever is correct, using examples LIKE THE ABOVE...
would be MOST USEFUL!!!!!!
Additionally, TWO SEPARATE "URL" fields on the Load
Movie Dialog box. Why? Simple...
1. One for the final "real world" destination ONLINE
2. One for LOCAL DRIVE LOCATION for IMMEDIATE TESTING
Here's another REAL WORLD idea: Give us the ability
to push ONE BUTTON...to save the .swi file AND...AND
EXPORT and .swf for IMMEDIATE TESTING at the same time (instead of having to do the first step and then the second).
REPEATING THIS:

Regarding Transforms, the Help file is textually there,
but what is lacking is VISUAL SUPPORT to go along with
the text. There is a copy of the Transform Dialog Box.
What about a VISUAL showing a "BEFORE" and "AFTER" of
various changes to settings, so that we can VISUALLY
understand things as well...right then and there...
in the Help file???
Yes, this would be E-X-T-R-E-M-E-L-Y valuable.

With all the preloader problems and questions and trying
to gauge how much Swish is loaded, etc., this would be
most useful for MANY reasons:
A "Content/Scene/Frame/KB Gauge" (or Meter) ...
...that runs constantly when viewing an .swi IN Swish.
If we hit the "STOP" button, right on the main Swish
window (it could be very tiny letters/numbers), we see
E-X-A-C-T-L-Y how many KB (or MB :-) total content has
been gone through, and can use information for modifying
preloaders, etc., etc.
I think I mentioned something before, but the concept
of specific Scene/Frame/KB readout just "Flashed" in
my mind.
