I know it is possible to make stuff transparent...but is there any possible way to blur something, other than having to draw it in another program, and importing?
-
Hmm... How about using a radial gradient where the outer-color of the gradient is color with it's alpha reduced to about 20%? It depends on what you're trying to blur, though.

That still wouldn't give me the effect I need...This thing has to be blurry...like out of focus, or the whole plot of the movie is ruined...I will probably just have to draw different parts of it in an editing prog, and blur them, and then import them into flash. Thanks for your help, though.

Blur away
Demorphius,
The cleanest way is definatley in Photoshop or Fireworks but this does increase the size of your movie and the amount of processor used on the clients side. Another way that I have found effective is to set the alpha to something less than 20% and then bring a new instance to the stage and lay it on top of it self but slightly off set. You may need to repeat this a few times to get the desired effect.
Thanks,
Quinn
