Could anybody help me out with finding a good 3D program that is either shareware or relatively cheap. I need something but don't know where to start.
    Thanks in advance.

I use vecta 3D, but im gonna get swift 3D sooner or later. Vecta is very simple to use. Just select open and go to any .3ds or .DFX file. Then you can rotate it in any way imaginable. Swift 3D is more advanced any handles more formats, and it also renders better.

Yes, Strata is a real and good AND free 3D package!
    Also, Blender (www.blender.nl) is free.
Or you could buy Amorphium Pro, which is really cool and even renders to swf!!
