Yes it could be your country next.

UK and Australia are my favorite countries, other than mine of course. It warms my heart to see the support you and your governments have shown. Thank you very much.

I don't agree with genocide either. That would make us no better. But it is hard to remain rational when you see pictures like the street parties going on in Palestine.

These terrorists are supported by governments. These governments will feel the wrath of the free world. It will be ugly. But it seems violence is the only thing they understand. I expressed my knee-jerk reaction yesterday in a flash:

First comes hot anger. Then comes cold revenge.

Unfortunatly there can be no other way. Not if you want to live without fear.

    Nice work Oldfahrt.

The US has already tried to "apprehend and try" guilty parties involved in terrorism, but because countries refuse to turn the leaders over, nothing is accomplished. Sure, the people who actually carry out these attacks are sometimes convicted and sent to prison, but the terrorist regime continues on as the leaders are never touched.

    my 2 cents
Perhaps you should know that firstly, we still do not know who did THIS crime. For all his other acts, Bin Laden should be punished and so too should anyone who has helped him.

Secondly, Afghanistan is currently ruled by a militia government. They rule by force and a very significant percentage of the population there disagree with their values, should those people be held accountable? You may have heard recently of an incident that occured where Australia refused to take in a boat full of refugees. These refugees were from Afghanistan, fleeing that country because they are so against the ruling militia. Australia and so many other countries every year take in so many people who flee that country and I can only imagine how many would be still there hoping they could get out to a life of true freedom. Should these people die? It makes no sense, innocent people should not be held accountable for the actions of others, isn't this what everyone is so upset about? The mindless taking of innocent lives? Why just do the same thing they did?

Bring those who committed the acts to justice.

    It is very real

This has presented a very real threat Australia's CHOGM summit.

"The Commonwealth of Nations is a voluntary association of governments and people of 54 independent countries around the world."

    Thats a big target?

Although I've overseas here in Australia, I still feel so bad about it. I've been watching the coverage since it's began and it's very upsetting. It's really getting to me. This morning before I left to go to class, I saw a report on families who received calls from their loved ones on the hijacked planes before they crashed and I just started crying a bit.

I hope that whoever behind this is caught, but I am not sure if a war is the answer to this!

its hard for me 2 comprehend this, 20,000 > 30,000 people . gosh. that number is, well, astounding that someone could do this. we will regroup, we will seek justice, we will find it, and i know we will do everything in our power to prevent anything more than that. the last thing we want to do is pass this pain on to anyone else.

    Praying for our American friends

I'm a 15 year old kid from melbourne, australia.

I just want to express how angry and shocked i am by yesterday's incident. I hope those terriost are gonna get the hell they deserve.

Anyway, since I'm so far away from the US, the only thing and most effective help for me is to pray.

    God bless America!

I do not support any kind of racial hatred and have lived my life that way. But I'm not naive enough to ignore what this means. It means we have reached a technological point where there must be some sort of world peace. What are the options? They have proved what an everyday object like a jet can do in the wrong hands. My God they didn't even have the foresight to wait until night when peoples from all over the world were gone. There could have been students on field trips. Are they commiting suicide here? Any civilized person including their neighbors would recognize the inhumanity of an act like this.

There is one way out for violence, full confession of the sponsors from a believable source. And cooperation from the world in solving it's problems.

I understand they truly believe in what they're doing. They have had a hard time too. Nor can I believe that many of the Palestinians condone this.

I hope this brings the world together.

But with man's long history of bloodshed I fear it won't be so. Certain segments of this otherwise great religion ingrain hatred into their youth. Much as the Hitler Youth were trained. I felt sorry for the children in that celebration picture. They don't know any better.

God forbid we have a war like that again. But we won't, it will not be a drawn out thing. I shudder at possibilities. The world knows what was available during the Gulf war.

So OK, I feel this must stop NOW. And I don't think I'm saying this as just an American. I've never taken anything at face value. What fits is the answer to "we can't win a normal religious war so what do we do?". That is purely my opinion. Don't ask my opinion on ANY religious group though. I believe religion is in the heart.

I will look hard at my site again. I will remove any doubt as to my condoning genocide or other stupidity.

I do condone stamping this world threat out though. By whatever means necessary. Peacefully first. THAT is my point. Solve this GD problem before this world is unfit to live in.

Yeah, in the short-run. but in doing so, we are lowering ourselfs to the level equal to that of the terrorists. Lemme ask ya this:
Do YOU wanna be a terrorist???

Didn't think so. so lets take the situation rationally people, we'll all get along better in the long run if we do so.

    Hard to believe still..........

It has been like watching a Bruce Willis or Arnold Schwarzenegger movie, so very hard to believe it has actually happened. I would like to know others thoughts on the possibility of this sort of terrorism being replicated or happening again? Also does anyone have the latest on suspects?

Sydney Newspaper says someone has been arrested. I am yet to read it so all I know is the headline and the image of a middle eastern looking man being escorted.

I believe he was on the train that was intercepted earlier.

sorry, but that is as much info as I have
