Thread: Flash causes IE meltdown

    1. Has anyone else noticed that you can crash the IE plug-in just by writing malformed shape data to a flash file?

    2. Can anyone explain why this hasn't been taken advantage of by merry pranksters yet?

    1. Yes. I've noticed that drawing certain shapes will crash the IE plug-in.

    2. Good question. That hadn't occurred to me. Maybe its not widely known.

    Exlorer in general has bugs with Flash, and very often can crash, I don't think anyone is quite shure what causes it yet. I believe that is often why certain Flash sites such as Shockwave.com require Netscape. For more info: http://www.moock.org/webdesign/flash/index.html.
