This post concerns behaviour on the boards regarding what I must term the most sensitive issues of all time on the Internet. Namely the attack on the US by terrorists.

Generally, FK users have acted impeccably in the way this issue has been discussed on the boards but I wanted to spell out what is acceptable behaviour on these boards to ensure this continues in the same vein.

    1. FK is a GLOBAL community bound together by a common interest in Flash and cool things. As such diverse cultures, age groups and belief structures come together on this board. Not everyone will always agree on every issue. As such it is important that we all respect this diversity.
    2. The FK boards do not prescribe to any freedom of speech rules and are moderated. The moderators who monitor these boards are given very strict guidelines in assessing member behaviour and post content and act accordingly. It is also very worthy of note that these moderators provide their time freely for the benefit of the community. As such, their decisions are supported by FK admin 110%.
    3. FK boards do not tolerate violence, profanity, pornography, warez or discrimination in any form. Expanding on the latter point this includes racial, religious, sexual or other content deemed inappropriate by the moderators. In short FK is a G rated site period.
    4. Finally, these are understandably very emotional times for many here. If you feel that emotion rising on the boards take a time out. Please be very very careful of generalizations in your posts and use these boards, the coffee lounge in particular. This is a place for fun, friends, open discussion, positive support and understanding.
    5. As a community we all share the responsibility to uphold the FK values. Please email steve@flashkit.com or trav@flashkit.com regarding any posts that fall outside these guidelines.

    Thanks for reading this far.

Sorry to interrupt your little party here, but the last thread that was deleted was deleted for a difference of opinion and not because it violated any of those rules posted by Scills or Okiro.

That was an outright abuse of power.

    Rune,

If you find thread control so objectionable here, perhaps you could scoot yourself on over to republicanforum.com

As for the 'last thread was deleted for a diff of opinion' ... big fat whoopie ~ you missed the part in the rules where it said "We reserve the right to delete any message for any or no reason whatsoever. " as posted by Okiro.

    Have a nice day

    rune...

when you've been on these boards as long as some of us have, you will quickly see that lounge threads can get out of control very fast and they need to be treated with a grain of salt

and keep in mind that the CL mods aren't always around... so when they are, it's sometimes necessary to "nip things in the bud" to ensure things continue to move fluidly

there's no hard feelings involved... that's just the way it is

And even if you haven't been here that long, like me, you'll also probably have noticed it...

Go on with your fanatasy lives, don't ever create an opinion that goes against the collective.

    Rune,

For me ~ it's not about opinion ~ it's about the voice you give to that opinion. What everyone believes *should* be done about current affairs is up for debate - not malicious slandering or bullying. It is unfortunate that a few people on these boards do not appear to have sufficient control over themselves to abstain from personal attacks because of one's opinion, religious beliefs, nationality, etc.

    <edit for typo>

    Don't be so disrespectful!

Terrorosists 1 : ALL OF US 0, I DON'T THINK SO!!! WHY? because we come together in times of need and save lives, not destroy them,

Terrorosists -1 : ALL OF US almost 6 billion

Yes, we all have the right to our opinions, but when an opinion could potentially create a lot of hate and angry, it has to be stopped.

Shuving your opinions in peoples faces and creating anger is what causes war!

I thought this would be a great opportunity to introduce everyone to my newest and greatest invention, Troll-B-Gone!

Just one spray will get rid of the most resilient pests and worst rectal ailments (pains in the posterior, in layman's terms). Moderators of a variety of boards will be recieving a complimentary bottle, of course!

In an even more exciting development, I have been working with the same company to develop another product called Perma-ban which is bound to revolutionize the way we deal with the tough duties of moderating those who just don't want to obey the rules.

    Operators are standing by!
