    Hello Fellow SWiSHers ...

This site might not appear to be finished -- but, as far as the client is concerned, it is ...

By the way ... The site opens in a pop-up window -- and the main page plays a saxophone version of the Star Spangled Banner (in tribute to the victims of Sept.11) ... If you do not wish to listen to it, just close the "Entrance" page, and leave the pop-up open ... Any thoughts and opinions would be appreciated ...

WooHoo ... First Site Check on the new forum !!! YeeHaw !!!

Congratulations Cadence, first check in the new forum.
Site is great, loads fast the only thing is every time I go back to main his image shifts ?? I know you chopped him up a bit and that may be contributing.
    Other than that lovely work

Now I think that makes me the first to check a site in the site checking forum

Ahhh, you remember the image chopping thing I did ... that was a while ago ... And, thanks for reminding me ... I've looked at it so many times, that I've just gotten used to it ... There's a stupid fade in effect that grows the image by like 2% ... So, I need to fix that ... Thanks

It's pretty cool...all the way through it.

Just an idea... we all know how much I like audio players. Why not have a "jukebox" sort of system for the sound files section. This would be a great place to use either swish or Filx audio tracks... and they could all be loaded into the same player.

    ...just an idea.

"This site might not appear to be finished -- but, as far as the client is concerned, it is ..."

    Hey, I get it...it's a construction site!!! teehee :-)

Okay, first, it's a great site. Great colors, layout, graphics, effects, overall design...Great!!! Oh, it also loaded very quickly over a 56K dialup.

Now, I have a couple comments:

    1. If you go to the "Suggestion Box" from the second page, and click on "Return to Menu" it takes you back to the first page, which you are calling the "Main Menu." I thought this was strange, since I went to the "Suggestion Box" from the second page, and my expectation was to be taken back to the page where I came from, which contains the entire site menu anyway. In otherwords, the way the site is layed out, it appears that you have two main menus, because you don't have to return to the first page to visit all of the other pages. So, the second page really acts like the main menu, because you spend all of your time surfing the site from that page, after the first time you visit it. I never even noticed it until I went to the Suggestion page, then it struck me as funny...haha.

Instead of the script you are using, I would do this: <input type="button" name="whatever" value="Return to Menu" onClick="javascript:history.back()">. That should take care of the confusion (not mine), always returning you to the page you came from, instead of a predefined URL.

    2. When I click on "Lights Off," I'd like them to go off, not just stop moving :-) (am I picky, or what?).

    3. MapQuest, without an obligatory link??? Just curious? I'd like to know for my own edification.

    4. Now, for the finale...I just have to ask this, cause it has really been bugging me: What exactly is:

<META NAME="keywords" CONTENT="Columbus Apartment Rental, One Bedroom Apartments, Two Bedroom Apartments, Studio Apartments, Dublin Ohio Apartments, Arlington Apartments, Worthington Apartments, Campus, Gradview Apartments, Floorplans">

Seems to be strange keywords for this kind of site????
You just have to explain this to me.

Well, I'm done having fun now. You do really great work. Now, I know why I can't get any jobs like this :-<

Jay ... I'll have to see what I system I can work out for a jukebox scenario ... The musician who owns the site, has/had very strict guidelines for me to follow ... But, I like the idea ...

Jamescover ... You know, I had to laugh when I looked at those Meta tags too ... I will have to fix those -- that page is from an Apartmental Rental company website I did a few months ago -- it was a working form, so, I didn't want to put too much work into a new one -- for the sake of my client's budget ... which brings me to the next point ...

There are only two HTML pages ... one containing the main menu (in .SWF), and the Suggestions box page ... Every other page is simply a movie loaded into/ontop of the main menu ... So, the using history.back(); would only do the same thing the Return to Main Menu does now ... That's why I labeled it Return to MAIN menu instead of Go Back or something like that ... Until I can get my hands/wallet on Insane Flash to make forms (per Monkeypants' suggestion), I have no other choice ...

I think I will actually have the spotlights fade out, instead of simply stopping ... Thanks for that suggestion ...

What I meant by, "Finished, but not finished" ... Is that the client had a limited budget ... They instructed me to stop working on the site until they could get together more money ... So, they told me to put up "Under Construction" pages until that time ...

I will certainly post another Site Check after it's ALL done

    Thanks Again

    Cadence

I liked this site when I saw it weeks ago. Lookin' good.

Just a few picky comments though. First of all, you have Lights on and off. The lights really don't go on or off. They stop or go. Then, when you go to any other page, and return, they start backup again. Arian's body seems to shift or something when you go back to the main page also.

I think you are doing very good for Arian. Hope he likes it

    Hey Bud

Very nice site. I particularly loved the spotlight effect. Very cool.
