Can't get my BUTTONS to work in Flash 5, HELP!!

It seemed easier to get buttons to work in Flash 4, now i'm using version 5 and my object properties window is always grey! What am i doing wrong?

Also, Is there a way to intregrate flash 4 and 5 scenes in a movie and work properly?

it sounds to me like your tryin to put the actions within the button rather than on the button. if you try to put action within the button it is more than likley that you are tryin to put actions on a vector graphic which isn't possible unless you have converted it to some sort of symbol

Try creating your button, then going back to the sceen and drag the button you have created from the library onto the stage, make sure its selected (it has a blue square round it) then open the actions, you should find they are active.
