Well, first off. It screams 'Ego Media'

That said, you do incorporate new ideas in the site that makes it more your own. I like the way the disks load (similar to how your areas loaded in your previous site). While I like that you drag the disks into the drive to load the content, I didn't catch it at first. No biggie as it makes people explore.

As far as content, there's lots of it, and I like that. There is stuff to keep people interested ((kept me at your site for a while)). And that's a big plus.

Now for my problems. First off, the two main windows. They don't move. While I'm not a fan of draggable windows (as they don't serve a purpose), my mind is so designed for 'Ego Media' that I kind of expected them to move. The problems of association I guess. Also, what is the point of that subcontent window?? It's really not content, just animations and images. Kind of odd and distracting for me.

Another thing (that extends from ego media as well) is you're cramming way too much information in a small spot. Take for example the backgrounds. Little buttons with teeny pictures. and when you select one, I didn't know you actually had to press a load image button.. too many 'clicks' to get something done.

As for closing the main windows to view the bg, I had no clue how to open the window back up! It was just gone! It had not occurred to me to look in a totally different pallette to open it back up again.

That's about it for now. I've seen your past sites and have been very pleased with your work. Really cool stuff. I just think this one, while nice, is a little too familiar to a certain someone.

It seems this site is doing too many things okay, rather than doing a few things really really well. Sorry I'm a little more critical with your site than I am with others, I just know that you've been on these boards for a while and are serious about design, hence you got my attention.

    Smile response to unrealreality

The latest release of ego media inspired many ideas in this site, but I wanted to try and go one better on the graphics side.

You said that the two main windows are not draggable!!! They are, don't know what happened there, if anyone else can't drag let me know.

The background panel allows you too preview pics first, then load if you wan't. The design is meant to be diddy and tricky..

Ego Media use the color orange and gray, does that mean no one else can? Ego Media uses rectangular menus as their interface, does that ban the rest of the world from doing the same? I'm sick of hearing these type of comments. It's like the old saying goes "If you have nothing nice to say....". Be part of the solution, not the problem.

    DOnt get me wrong,

I compliment the site, I like the concept behind it for the navigation but your not going to tell me that the interface design doent have a distinct resemblance to ego media. What about even the game code that they used which i have seen at levitated.net

Look, all i am saying is, its a great site but as soon as i saw it, i thought egomedia, thats all.(:

    cheers

    Fair Enough...but...

I like the site, very clean and professional, just not original. You obviously have some serious skills and talent, but there are just too many similarities to Ego.

If you want to use orange and grey, do it, if you want to use the draggable menus and such, do it, whatever you want to do, do it.

But people in this community are going to say something, and it will never be as cool as EgoMedia, cause Ego did it first.
Its just the way it works...

There are tons of powerful color schemes out there, I am sure you can find one that will work just as well as orange/grey.

I liek the background images a lot, very cool.

In closing, I liek everything, its well done, no doubt about it, but when it comes to originality, you didn't score many points.
