    Thumbs up

    Hey,

I just rented this movie called "boogie men", it's just a bunch of clips from the best scary movies of all time. Now, they had a poll at the end for the scariest movie of all time.

    It was "The Exorcist".

What do you think is the most scariest movie out there?

personally, I would have to say the Exorcist too.

I mean... WHO was prepared for the head rolling around bit!? I was a kid, it freaked me out for weeks.

for some reason, I still think The Birds was scarier... perhaps it was the icy cold stare my pet bird gave me the first time I saw that movie... never owned one since...

I thought Exorcist was more weird than scary. My scariest list includes Scarecrow, The Omen, Candyman (I was scared of mirrors for years...damn traumatizing movie), and all of the Elm Streets because I was young, impressionable, and already never wanted to go to bed when my parents told me to.

Good choice young man... great ending too!

Scary depends on what you find more scary... visual images or letting your own mind run wild (suspense)...

If its the latter then it has to be a hitchcock film... if its the first then maybe hellraiser or something similar...

I think the scariest movie of all time was called "To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar". Hands down, the scariest of all time.

LMAO!! That is a scary film!!

For the record, I think in terms of effect on my life, Jaws is the scariest film I've ever seen. I've not swum in the sea for about 12 years!!

I found Blair witch project pretty scary/tense as well.

    Care Bears the Movie!

EASILY the mostscary mobvie ever - i mean comeon - a 5 year old lad hell bent on destroying the earth!
And strange softcuddly animals that shoot gunk from the chests!
    WAAAH!

But the real scary one has to be Candy Man - definatley agree with that!
Although the first movie that ever made me jump big time was Arachnopohobia - a spider on a 34 foot cineman screen that big is enough to make anyone soil them boxers!

i loved 'jacob's ladder' what a cool movie!

i didn't think the exorcist was very scary though, i saw the japanese movie 'the ring' and that was scary in a weird sort of way.

probably the most jumpy i have been in the cinema was in 'what lies beneath' i wouldn't say it was the greatest film ever but the whole cinema was jumping and screaming the whole way through, it was hilarious!

The Excorcist scared the crap out of me when I was 12, but I saw it again a couple of years ago and it just made me laugh.

I'd vote for The Thing -- still creepy and icky after all these years...
