    http://www.turtleshell.com/asm/

just found this, when page finally loads, check the options box (top right), he has a grainy film scratches toggle.

Turn it on and off, pretty cool.

    roguenroll,
I didnt see that but it does look good. the only difference is that was done in flash. I feel the same thing can be achieved in swish just need some time to do it.
    thanks

Well here's a try at this, it was actually harder to get everything synching than I thought. I think I'll be trying
Flash soon for projects any bigger.

Some sound overlaps, and some image crossovers that I didn't
expect. Im still fairly new at Swish.

I gave up on the scratches and fades, and went with yours.
I think I'm done with filmstrips for a while.

There are 2 examples, let movie run through.

That was really good. I like the film strip Idea. Where did you get that from. If you send the .swi I may be able to fix it for you. Just a tip, when the film strip runs it goes from top to bottom and the numbers run down. But thats easily fixable.
    Great job.

I been a little busy, I have to redesign my business
site, you can check it out at the root of this DL, for the SWI files.
From the home page I put up a simple Swish animation, simple but effective.

Link is - New TireSpot -Sept 27th.

    http://www.tirespot.com/filmstripproject.zip

I've included both SWI's mine and yours (altered). Plus
I noticed that the fonts you used to do the film cells didn't play on my system, I assume because I didn't have the font installed, so I also included the borders font for
film cells I used in my project. FYI -Its the letter i

    Well, swish on

I'd like to use more swishes for my site, I hope I can think of some more ideas.

    Greg

OH, you asked about the idea,Don't know if you mean about the design or where I got the filmstrip, so,

The design - I kind of consider myself an artist, so I just
kind of had to do a project to do and decided this is what I will try to produce.

As far as the filmstrip, I checked around for movie style fonts, and luckily I found what I was looking for at:

Yeah, looks good. Like I said I think I'll try Flash, for
more a more dynamic range. I was having trouble appling ideas I had during the project, because it was so hard to move items on the timeline, after I put them in.

I wanted to put my filmstrip before your scratches, but after seeing all your work, that I would have to move down 30 frames, I just loaded your movie into the filmstrip.swi.

By the way, great work on the old_movie.swi, alot of detail, alot.

I saw your count down, very good.

No,this is when I originally downloaded you oldmovie SWI.

Not a big deal, but when I opened your SWI, in Swish on my system, all your cell picts (that I saw online) only played as number 5's.

Again, I think its just that I didn't have that font.TTF
    installed on my system.

Thats why, just in case, I zipped the font I used.

    Yeah, looks good.

FYI, just to throw it out there, if any of the ideas, concepts, or my SWI, come in handy for your project,
don't hesitate to use any or all of them.

and don't worry about credits and all that crap.

    Greg

Those scratches are still a mystery, though.
    ================================================
Oh yeah, if the movie photos are not available, the Goverment has tons of old archive photos, that would be a good second alternative, they would be free.

use some old radio and WWII sound waves

    Just a thought

I E mailed the person with the site you directed me to and he told me how he did the scratches. His site was done in flash and he drew the scratches in with the pencil tool, then randomly put them into the movie.
    thanks

when I started making this movie I didnt think it was going to end up this large a file. so in the begining I left no room for a preloader. Is there a way for me to preload from a seperate swf file.

    Just caught your latest "?"

I am kinda confused, why you would want to, I think,
with my average knowledge of Swish, that you could add another scene, name it preloader, use the arrows on the menu bar to place it at the top, and just have the simple word, loading ('squeezing' in rotation), until the last frame of the last scene has loaded.

Your statement, no room, has me a little puzzled.

But in answer to another separate preloader, is 'probably'.

    Can you elaborate?

Greg (always like an intresting problem)

Oh, yeah, I put a preloader on your old_movie SWI, the one
I zipped for you to download, basic, but I'm sure not too
    big.

Sorry for the confusion but i started the movie at frame 0 of scene 1 and I wasnt sure if I can add a scene before scene 1 or if I should just use another swf file to load the movie. any better? I know clear as mud....
