This one, your 'tell me what you think' posting.
I was making a joke, it has kinda been more or less in the top 10 on the post, for the last couple of weeks
I looked for it the other day, and it had slipped to the second page. ha ha

Ref. 56K
A liitle longer than I estimated, I deleted my browser memory and timed, exactly, 1 minute-25 secs.
I'll try again, yes, 1 minute, 25sec

the start of your web commercial
I like the start... reminds me of a fifties sci-fi movie maybe throw an image like that in there old ray harryhousen (hope I spelled his name correctly) and use the same kind of text and descriptions like in the old posters and 1 sheets.
Best Regards

thanks grapesite,
I was trying for an old time effect to get the point accross. I was originally going to do it with silent pictures but I just love the marx bros, and abbott and costello, and the rest.

Your movie did take awhile here on a 56k. Once it starts, it goes right along though. Really like the old photos, radio sounds, and film strip.
Not certain about this but... I don't think the preloader needs to download the whole .swf. Haven't got it worked out yet but you can tell the preloader to go to frame 0 of Scene 1 after the last frame of Scene 1 is loaded( somewhere around 1/3 of the .swf); then make sure that you preload sounds and images before they are needed. Then the remainder of the .swf can download while the rest is playing.
note:One thing that I noticed is that if you preload something during a complex effect, it will slow that effect down.
What we need here is a preloader expert. This is probably one of the most important tutorials we could use. Anyone out there?

Hi A1,
This post must have more views than any other.
Did the preloader suggestion help. It seemed to load quickly given all the sounds and graphics.

Dawn,
I used your suggestion, ( I should have thought of it myself but no ones perfect) and instead of loading the whole movie I just preloaded the main content and started it a little quicker. Did the sound and effects all fall into place?
Thanks for the suggestion.

Great,
Thanks for the help Dawn. I just spent an hour on my Instant messanger giving a tutorial on how to make a preloader.
