Hello,
Does anyone have any idea why Flash tells me that "one or more files were not imported because there were troubles reading them" every time i try to import an mp3 that i have no problem playing using Quicktime?
All suggestions appreciated!

never heart of it. but I had troubles once importing some .wav file.
try to export the file into another format through quicktime like .aiff or something and then try to import it again.

I had it happen. From what I could make of the problem was that the mp3 file was not coded right or something. I used Goldwave with the mp3 plugin called "lame" and opened the mp3. Then I converted it to another mp3 and made a new file. It also allowed me to cut the mp3 down and make the file smaller. Then I imported the new file and it worked fine. If you want to try Goldwave the free sharware version is at http://www.goldwave.com along with the "lame" mp3 plug in.
note: Im not saying the plugin is lame. Its really the name of it.

working MP3 import settings
Using Flash 9 (CS3)
It frustrated me, too!
Using Amadeus II sound editor on a Mac.
My last working settings were with LAME version 3.96 compression:
112 kbps; Best; Tags option OFF; Variable Bit Rate option OFF
These settings worked.
I do believe that turning off the variable bit rate encoding option or tags option did the trick. Hope this give you a lead for your own set up.
