It's pretty easy to do:
...and thanks to Dubey2K who gave me the answer a week or so ago...
Put the .swf into the same folder as the .ppt
Open the control toolbox toolbar
Click on the "little hammer" and find Shockwave Flash Object
Click on the slide
In the box that appears, right click, choose Properties
In the properties, find movie and type in the name of the .swf, including .swf

While it is fairly easy to get the movie into Powerpoint, it's sure to misbehave once you have it in there.
1) Make sure to hard code the entire directory structure of the movie into the URL.
2) Embed the swf if at all possible.
3) If you need it to loop or it remains still unless acted upon, you're in business. If it runs as a movie, you'll probably need to muck with some VBA to get it to rewind.
Good luck.
Hope that helps,
Rick

this site deals with integrating flash and powerpoint. It is fairly easy and gets great results.
