how would i make a small dot, like the size of a dot on a radial button to move around with a fading trail behind it?

Well here's what I'd try:

make multible elements with different transparency. Make them follow the first one but with a delay via a list of actions. Pretty sure that would work, you'll have to play around with it to be sure, you could even add a second list of actions to be called to hide them when it's not moving. Experiment along those lines.
