I went for a very "friendly" look to my site as I know all too well that my morbid visions of grandeur can frighten away potential clients.

I really need and would appreciate the feedback... Oh yeah, I know that my resume stuff doesn't have my URL on them yet... I'm adding that later tonight.

I like it, only problem I see is your preloader doesn't show up until like 39%, until then it's just black..that could turn people away thinking there's nothing there.
Of course, I'm on 56k so it takes a bit to load 39%..

Thanx Snarling Sheep for the encouragement. I totally know what your're saying about the screen being black for so long. I tried separating my preloader into a separate file from my main content, but I got too frustrated with the script to make it work right, and I wanted to just get the site up there already.
Xtra thanks for not ranking on it cuz its obviously an "intermediate" design. Anyway, I'm currently working on this local Hip-Hop band's site, which its design and navigation is turning out to be more along the lines of the guru folks who post here. I'll probably be up by next week. Cheers!

I notice that the music doesn't play automatically, so isn't it just taking up space? I don't think most people will turn it on themselves.
Also, it's nice to see a design that's mostly different, so don't get too much like the gurus
