Thread: This messege will sefl-destruct....

  1. #1
I was wondering if there is a way to have an email or messege dissintegrate after a period of time. Like an email you recieve from someone. After 24 hours upon reciept it automatically deletes it self. Never to be traced or found again. Is this possible?

You could set up a rule in your outlook to delete all mail sent to you after a period of time, there should be a rules wizard in the tools menu to do this.

If you're sending, you can also set your mail to expire ...

I know on our work outlook you can set "expires after" in the view - options menu but I'm not sure if it disappears without trace.

Just create a new mail and then select the menu path above and you can set it to expire any time (over 24h too) I guess it'll depend on the version of outlook you use, our work version is pretty old but I'd think the help files tell you if the above doesn't work.

I think it does, the rules wizard is pretty self explainatory though so you should be OK following it

Sweet! Got heaps of rules I need to set up for Outlook XP since I have 2 ISP emails set up on it and it gets confusing when they're a flood of new mail.

    Cheers
