    Is it possible that Flash5 can accept variables via URL string?

    Example: I want the user to choose what background color they want in the SWF. I have a particular link for background color change in a Flash SWF when clicked it will affect what background will the loaded into the Flash file. Is that even possible?

    This is kind of difficult to explain!

    Yes it is possible. I have done it with ihtml and I am sure you can do it will javascript so Coldfusion should work.

    If the flash page is embedded on a .cfm just do this.

    <OBJECT classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
    WIDTH=100% HEIGHT=100%>
    <PARAM NAME=movie VALUE="MyMovie.swf">
    <PARAM NAME=quality VALUE=high>
    <PARAM NAME=bgcolor VALUE=#ChngColor#> <!-- This is the key here -->
    <EMBED src="MyMovie.swf"
    bgcolor=#ChngColor# <!-- This is the key here -->
    WIDTH=100% HEIGHT=100%
    TYPE="application/x-shockwave-flash" PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash">
