I'm currently begining to learn xml. At school I use a pc and have gone through a handfull of tutorials that work perfectly, brought them home to continue working on them but my mac (IE 5) doesnt display the xml data in my pages.
Question: Can xml data be viewed through a web page using a mac browser?
seemingly not... although I have seen web pages that use xml and flash on the web from my mac, and the data is displayed fine, as seen at:
http://www.jrvisuals.com
anyone got answers?
greatly appriciated.

xml in the browser on a mac?
yes. I'm using MS Internet Explorer 5.1.2 on MacOS X and I use it to view XML, XHTML, and XML with XSL daily for the projects I deal with.
That site works fine for me - a bit slow, flash framerate-wise.

hey gerbick thanks for the info...
my point about the jrvisuals.com site is that he used xml through flash, I to can view it through my browser, but a simple textbook tutorial that I had done earlier today at school on a pc worked fine but the same pages of code on the mac produced no results. I'm using OS 8.6 IE 5.0 as well as netscape 6.1.
maybe an update is in order?
if you have a moment, I've posted the tutorial page I did:
http://home.earthlink.net/~bgetkin/x...tory_table.htm
the xml page can be found at:
http://home.earthlink.net/~bgetkin/x.../Inventory.xml
Take a look, maybe I've missed something.
again any help would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks in advance.

you're fine on your OS and browsers, btw
hmmm, I see your issue now. I'm truly surprised that you are not simply using an XSL attached to the XML file. However, given that you are loading the XML via the <XML ID/SRC> method, I'm a bit surprised that it doesn't work on the Mac. I'll have to do a bit of research to ensure that it's not a Mac issue.
Your XML is well-formed. man, you got me stumped. let me finish some more work tonight, and I'll see what I can do.
