    Cool

What do you want to do exactly? Compose music? Edit loops? What kind of quality? Pro? Amature?

The best program (without a doubt) for making flash sound and music is FruityLoops located at www.fruityloops.com i think! Get it! It's a very powerful program for making soundloops!

Depends on the style of music you want, but I use Dance E-Jay2 Techno edition (there are a few other editions) and as well as being great fun, you can produce royalty free wavs for use in Flash.
Its cheap too at less than 30 pounds (UK). Check out http://www.fasttrak.co.uk/music/index.html
....and no, I don't work for them, or own shares, I just like it!

well, i must say for ease of use and powerful variety, i'd go with ACID. check out their site at www.sonicfoundry.com

although there are other programs which offer more power for composition and whatnot, i find acid is a very good beginner level program while not losing a whole lot in the creative power end =p

From an Acid Pro user ...
    it's easy,
    it's fun,
    and you get high quality,
royalty free wav files which can
    be imported straight into Flash.
    It's great!

Are you looking for an application to use on a PC or a Mac?

ProTools is the absolute best audio editing/recording program. Pro quality, editing, midi integration.

Then again, I'm biased to that application. I've used it extensively in sound design.

Any one tried Mixman Studio? The program is really fun to use and it's easy to produce mix using it. If you are into techno/dance music then you should try it. Have fun and get the job done.
