The flash 5 plugin is preinstalled with IE and probably Netscape on both Macs and PCs since Flash 5 was released.

Flash 4 just doesn't have the actionscript capabilities of 5.
(You try using XML in flash 4)

it is approximately a 1 min download, and on PCs will autoinstall if the page is configured properly.

    Smile Flash 6 Beta anyone?

    Right then,

If you take a look at our site I'm sure you'll discover that we are a group of Graphic Designers. We are using the site to promote ourselves to proffesional visual communicators. These people will almost certainly own the software.

We do not wish to alienate other members of the public either and encourage anyone to take an interest in our cause. So I remind you that flash 5 player takes only one minute to download on a 56k modem and the Action Scripting that we are using cannot be done in flash 4. Also flash 6 beta is available now. By 2004 we will probably be at version 8/9 and so I for one wish to move on sooner rather than later.

We are, as semi-proffesional designers, concerned with keeping up with technology. So are the public who we communicate to. We have even included a link to download Flash 5 for users who don't have it so we can't say fairer than that! Also thank you to those of you who posted the correct facts.
