    hi, how are things going?
now that I'm really into work I (kind of) have more time for FK boards (i know that's a bit nosense but... )

I must agree with Laura, Chris that painter drawn girl is gr8!!!

Laura, u speak about other's improved drawing techniques but I must say u got really good, especially with lights and shadows!

(...but still into "don't want to draw hands" club i c! )

    gr8

    Hey CAD, welcome back!
Glad to hear you got work - after seeing your portfolio, I would have hired ya.

The site is cool - great use of Flash, and I love the banner - it's tough to get a good film effect in Flash, and it looks like you nailed it. Did you use scripting in that? Or is it all keyed?

(BTW - that site has a great logo, too. )

Wow Dani, that is a ton of stuff!

Thanks for the compliments - those sketches were pen sketches in my sketchbook, that's why they probably look cleaner than most of my sketches might. Plus I usually bump up the levels in Photoshop to make the lines a little cleaner.

I really like the art style in the mariapickup piece. Great color too.

The snail is cool - the script to make clouds move isn't too difficult - I did it in this piece and could send you the .fla if you'd like ( http://www.perfectlyfunctional.com/cam/vday.html )

I spent more time than I probably should have watching that pixarchive - strangely captivating for such a relatively simple effect.

That movie1 is a great photo and effect. One of yours?

I like badfly, too. Again, nice coloring.

I could comment on them all, but I'll give everyone else a chance.

hm... I don't think the site is that great but it has been featured on macromedia's italian site. I didn't do it, the guy that was here before me did it, I did the old movie banner and the F1 one wich is offline 'til the third level opening.

Most of the animation is Ascripted, random movement and random tweened alpha fade that reveal an underneath blurred and scratched image wich mades the effect really cool

since u asked for it and another guy needed an old movie effect I'll post soon a link to the FLA (if not on that page, on the next, now we have some connection problems so I can't do quite anything...)

...and yeah, the logo is sooooo smooooooooth!!!

mescaline, really cute thingies liked a lot the pinky site

it'd be really cool if you could send me that

yes, the photo is mine, that's one of my hobbys, taking pix with my LOMO (lomo.com for who doesn't know it) this one was taken last year in the NMUF dinner in A'dam...the squares are just a intro for my future photo database, I have the intro and the desing already, but inbetween is still missing, I wanted the squares to shape into my design but I still haven't found out how to do that and make it look good. Anywayz, looks pretty hypnotizing for a bunch of spinning squares, huh?

I could comment on them all, but I'll give everyone else a chance.
thanx a lot for your comments

    :*

    Aha! I thought so!

Yeah, I think it would be tough to get the same effect by keyframing everything, just because the scripted version is so fluid/quick, and has that element of randomness. Cheers for offering to post the .fla

Dani - I'll send the .fla later tonight via e-mail.

    here is the file:

    http://www.imetgw.com/x/flashkit.fla

please use it only to understand how to do the effect.

on how it works I can answer on the other thread "old film effect" wich is more appropriate
