    I rather think that instead of confusing people it clears things up, even though letters might not be as logical when talking about sequences as numbers:
    Cars went through the same thing, some thirty-odd years ago... until they got sick of numbering cars like ducks in a row...
    The main thing is that now users won't need to be finding out anymore what is the latest version of Flash, Freehand, Generator, Dreamweaver, ColdFusion and so on... I remember a friend of mine that was trying to sample up the whole string of latest MM products, and he was actually doing pretty fine at remembering that Flash was the the number 5, Freehand was on the number 10, Dreamweaver is at 4 while Authorware was on the number 6 and Director was at 8.5...

    Well, that will be history pretty soon...

    It's gonna be MX or not-MX... As simple as that...
