The next update does have some improvemtns in text formatting .. but not anything that means mixing fonts within the text object (so no bolding/underlining or bullet point symbols from another font etc within a single text object).

I'll answer a couple of those for you ...
1. MIDI simply is not supported by the SWF format ... There's nothing that SWiSH can do about that ...
2. ----
3. There is a button to Test in Browser ... Use the View Menu --> Select Toolbars --> Open the "Export Toolbar" ... You can then move that toolbar over next to the other toolbars at the top ... And you can Test in Browser with one click
Hope it helps,

If only I could understand what you mean .. can you explain more clearly please .. it may well be a great idea if only I knew what it was

OK, (sorry...) ... look at the Swish Help files under "Select Tool". Is there a way to modify the "Select/Scale tool" to be able to choose only the white "S" in the Swish logo\graphic. Something along the lines of a "magic wand" selection mechanism found in graphics programs like Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop... It would select-"shrink wrap" only the "S" in the graphic by an alpha value found by the color picker.

I'd just like to reinforce the sound sync. in some way, as it seems everytime that you have a sound synced to actions, that when you export it, the sound either speeds up or down, even if it is preloaded.

Ideas etc
Hello Roger & Swish-Team
Swish is becoming a very powerful tool and i believe the future of swish is looking very promising indeed.
I would like to see the posibility of: Scripting, get variables, text input, forms.
Also it would be nice if you remove the meta tag from the html pages.
Many thanks, Martin.

I'm not that familiar yet with Swish, but do have a wish list.
1. Ability to align objects/text with eachother (top, bottom, left, etc.).
2. Easier access to aligning
3. More cool effects!
4. include some cool preloader bars, effect (Don't know if this is even possible)
I'm sure I'll have more to input after I use it more.

hmmm... First of all fix the bugs and maybe make the program fun faster (somehow) it seems to respond pretty slow on my fast computer. Also, it would be good if there was some kind of programming or scripting, at least somthing where you can embed script into it. Just some ideas

Our main objectives are bug fixes and perfomance. Thats the top of the list.

JUST ONE THING!!!
How about the ability to start a new scene as a goto frame straight from a sprite?

Imagine you are looking at the outline window (where all the objects and sprites are) and you want to click explode a sprite for editing (by clicking on the +). If the sprite is near the top of the window, or anywhere for that matter, swish relocates the sprite to the bottom of the window. This is annoying.

Also, how about the ability to resize a movie without having to resort to the "put everything in a temporary sprite, move and resize the sprite, then ungroup the sprite and spend hours repairing everything" trick.

Please let me know what things need repairing .. that is probably indicative of a bug.
Then we'll see if we can automate the resizing by doing the equivalent of the 'trick'. But if the trick doesn't work, trying to do a resize some other way will probably have the same problems.
If you has some examples of a SWI the won't resize properly using the trick, please sent it to me ASAP to roger.onslow@swishzone.com

Nice, i can't wait for the next version to come out, i'm thinking it's going to be serious competition with Flash MX. Plus all the bug fixes will help a lot too. One quick suggestion:
Dynamic text......please......? That'll just make SWiSH the best.

I think what he's trying to say is that when you need to resize a movie (for whatever reason), that only the bg resizes, not the stuff on the stage.Might be a bug, or probably not, but it would be nice to have everything resize when the whole movie is resized.

Yes . I now what it is Leftie wants, and there is a trick already in SWiSH v2 that lets you do it. Usually that works just fine.
But he says he then spends hours fixing up things that theis method stuffs up on him. I want to know (with example) what it is exactly that stuffs up.
Once we've got that corected, then I can look at applying the same techinique within SWISH itself to do resizing directly (without the trick). But without finding out what goes wrong, any thing I do to resize a movie in the new update would have the same problems as the trick does .. so Left Nut would still have hours of work to do .. not very satifactory.

hi guyz , i didn't read whole thread too big and iam a newbie in swish ,few problems that i met are mainly
1)- IMPORTING VIDEOS
2)- FONTS
3)- BACKGROUNDS
4)- TEMPLATES
5)- PRELOADERS
AND THE FIRST REPLY TO THIS POST IS THE BEST I THINK
and acc. to me there shud be one option to add preloader to the movie thats it
no need to learn a tough tutorialfor preloaders .swish shud have inbuilt option for preloadrs like percentage and others.
