    erm, well

Things i would like to see

    1. THE BIGGEST THING THAT I THINK WOULD BE REALLY COOL IF YOU COULD DO IT, WOULD TAKE TIME, BUT WITH EVERYTHING THAT YOU CAN DO IN SWISH TO HAVE A SWISH TUTORIAL FOR IT, SO THAT PEOPLE WHO DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO CAN SEE IT DONE FOR THEM AND SO ON..if you have this already, sue me hehe.
2.Able to have text merging to different text ie
http://www.falconglass.net/frames.htm where the emergency call out does its thing.
3.Able to have shapes change from a square to a circle smoothly.
4.Tool bars, could you have them so there are more options on them please, more tools.
5.Another things that would be really kewl is a new toolbar that inserts scripts/forms that you can put on your movie, and then have swish tutorials for them
    6.

    Annoying things

    1.Freezing
2.ONLY GETTING THIS PROGRAM A FEW MONTHS AGO..CANT LIVE WITHOUT IT!!!

Hope my answers aren't too wild

    Cheers

    Alex

    How about you Roger?

    Hi Roger,

As mentioned before, yes you are brave man to start this thread, but I'm sure the SWISH community respects you a lot for that.

I guess one thing that I'd like to know is what is your short/long term vision for SWISH? I generally don't think that you want it to be everything and anything. But it would be good to know where you hope to see SWISH as. Is it a major web development tool or presentations tool or both? Initially, Swish started out as tool for Flash, but looks like you've got bigger and better ideas.

It be great to know what your thinking so that we can all better help to reach a better product. Hope you know what I'm trying to say.

Anyway, I agree with majority of things posted already. Here are some of mine no particular order:

    1) Text justification
    2) Text formatting as mentioned
    3) Faster website development tools eg. in Flash MX scroll bars and buttons, etc.
    4) Definitely improvements in video, sound and synchronisation.
    5) Option to play movie from any desired frame.
    6) Pre-loader wizard
    7) Transition wizard for pre-loading in between scenes (if possible).
    8) Ability to break text, images into new layers.

Another suggestion just to help with this SWISH board is that a lot of newbies asking similar and questions over and over again. I appreciate the work of the moderators and experts in helping out, but I think the board should be helping us keep pushing the limits of SWISH.

So more tutorials and training section I think would great and if moderators and experts could post their own tuts there then I think this would get more newbies up to speed (inc. me), meaning that we would get more experts, therefore, increase the development and popularity of SWISH in the future.

    Hope my comments are valid.

    Cheers,
    pc2

I would like to see it supported by swish in a future release. Is surely bigger in size but looks much better and it would be useful for some kind of graphics. Plz add it!!!

    Wish List

My Wish List (I'm fairly new to Swish)

    1. ALIGN command
    2. import/embed video
    3. Easier selection of objects, easier movement of objects on stage (I have an object selected and I can't get it to move, even when Preview is not selected)
    4. import multiple files
    5. Easier docking/arrangement of windows (it can be miserable when you move things and try to get windows back to where they were....they sometimes have a mind of their own)
    6. Repeat/again key
    7. Indication of coordinates always in view
    8. Transition effects (dissolves, wipes, etc.)
    9. Export as GIF
10.ActionScript capabilities (but then, this would be Flash, wouldn't it, and cost more???)

    Hi ...

You can already import multiple files ... Just use your Windows Explorer and SHIFT+CLICK all the files you want to import - then you can drag and drop them into SWiSH ... just an FYI

Are you talking about doing this while Swish is open or are you talking about moving files through windows? When I import while working in Swish, I can only select one file at a time. Please enlighten me 'cause I'm not seeing this ability to select multiple files when I select "Import".

    Thanks.

well, you'd have to have both open -- SWiSH and the File Explorer (My Computer, Windows Explorer, etc.) ...

Then, using the File Expolorer - you can select multiple files and drag n drop them out of the explorer and onto SWiSH's canvas

Using SWiSH alone - you can only import 1 file at a time

    Peaces,

Thanks, Br, er, um, Cadence. That's better than one at a time selection. Now tell me there's an alignment command, too, that I missed (top, left side, right side, etc.)

It depends on what you mean by "alignment" ... If you mean alignment on the layout canvas - then - no, there isn't a specific alignment -- for example, center-on-page, etc.

If you want to align the objects according to "left-side", "top-left", etc. ... Then, yes - you can do that (select the object - open the Transform Panel - use the pull-down menu (labeled "Center" by default) - in that menu you can choose the alignment point of your objects -- this point will be the X, Y coordinates as well as the "pivot" point) ...

Not sure if that helped, but

    Peaces,

Another Suggestion - posted by bluepdoo :

As a newcomer to swish and flash in general, and after reading the first 40 or so threads from the <your input on next version of swish>, im left wondering... If swish adds all these options like motion tweaning, get variables etc etc, wont that defeat the whole purpose of what I thought swish was about - which was to make it a simple program for creating flash files for people who dont understand Macromedia Flash? If you keep on adding all these technical things, eventually you'll end up with another version of Flash, just with a different name. Beginners will then drop this program and look for one thats easier to use.

    Thats one man's opinion....*S*

Umm that's why there's swish lite.

And why those who learn swish lite want to move up to 2.0

maybe the next full version should be called

    Extreme Swish

Nothing like co-branding to expand your market.

I think and l HOPE that the developers of swish know what they are doing. A program is not hard if it has many options but how it can apply that effect through the interface. Also Swish can make ONE program not lite and one for pros BUT can have two interfaces(something like Coolpage) that has a begginer toolbar and an advanced one.
I would like to see developers adding cool stuff that people want.
Think the developers need to see where swish is going and so they must add things that we need and make the program run faster with fewer bugs, add support for other kinds of media, improve image compression and .swf compression and stuff like that.
Optimising the .swf for streaming would be nice like making easily a menu for the user for stream speed etc

    a "menu makers" wishlist ..

Sorry that i read this tread only 60% and some of my points may be double, but perhaps this helps to make up your mind that this is needed ...

    A) What I need:
    *******************************************
    1) Change Attributes of selected Elements in one Step ( to change a menu with 16 Buttons from "Arial Bold" to "Verdana unbold" ) or change the Colour of all Shapes in one step..

    2) Let me store my prefered Text defaults like
Transform Position to Left Upper Corner and Alignment left

    3) Frozen up the Scene line in timeline to see alway the positions of Labels, stops and other actions in timeline
( Roger You sad some time ago : Oh Nice Idea ... )

    B) What will be also usefull for Newbies:
    *******************************************
    4) export to *.html including a "noflash Section" and a check section to exclude older browser version. ( like netscape 4.5 that mostly chrashes with my swf files )

    5) let Updates also have a look into registry to remember where i installed swish last time and take over the settings. ( perhaps as an option to be also able to reinstall absolutly new )

    C) What i have read in other wish Lists ...
    *******************************************
    6) Forms

    7) Read from and write to ascii files and let me exctract parts of the file to variables

    8) Variables:
    read them from command line
    ( like: menu.swf?section=contact )
    and
    operate with them ( like maxPiont=maxpoint+1 )
    or
    MenuText=substr( input , Offset , 20 )
    or
    test=fileopen("blabal.txt")

    D) Nice to have ..
    *******************************************
    9) export to exe ( like create Projektor) without the menuline of Flashplayer
    and

10)let me choose a Programm Icon for that exe

    But:
I also have seen so many points in the tread above, that makes next Upgrade interestent enough ...

    Hi Roger,

    Hope I'm not too late...

It would be great if you could save a string of custom effects as a single user effect and build up your own library that you could share with others.

What I mean is, for example - (blur, snake, revert) each of which may have had it's parameters modified - saved as a single effect.

Not just saving changes you make to a single effect, as I am aware can be done now.

    Cheers...

    Hi

I would like to find a short running description of what is happening in slow motion when I play to test; and or the same relevant information running over the timeline. It would help beginners like me to findout the wrong choices I made in the menus. It would also help to understand examples more quickly.

Help with F1 on context for all options and with hiperlinks would be very practical when the complexity of the program increases.

    Wish List

The top 10 things I would like to see???
    1. Forms
    2. forms
    3. forms
    4. etc.

That is really the most important thing I would like to see. I still have to do them with FrontPage, as I hae NO idea how cgi, etc, works...so there's flash out of hte window for me.
With that included, I could reasonably do the entire site with swish!

BTW: I think the programs is great.

Might be a silly idea but ...

If you had a comments field in the properties panel for each item in your scene/movie - it would be very helpful for selfdocumenting and later reference. Also very handy for others viewing/disecting your swi's.

Nothing over the top - just a small comments field for notes of important settings/concepts.

    Cheers...

    Sorry - me again.

Forgot to say about the comments field that it would obviuosly be ignored when generating the swf's.

    Cheers...

    personal preferences

I would have to say that the ability to make forms would be a real biggie for me. One other point, and you must excuse me here if I have missed something, as I am a relative newbie, but I would like to see a method of aligning effects. Hmmmm.... maybe an example would better explain my meaning. Ok 6 buttons all with mouse over effects. Simple enough to achieve, but trying to align the effects on the main stage seems to be a bit hit and miss. There seems to be no point of reference between the effect stage and the main stage.
