Does one need Flash Player 6 to view .swfs compiled in Flash MX?

Does this mean that all web users will have to download Flash Player 6 in future as I'm sure EVERYONE will develop using Flash MX?

    Thanks.

Flash MX can be leveraged to output Flash 5 content rather easily. There is a very large list of new features that a Flash developer can take advantage of, even if they are publishing to the Flash 5 player. Some of the new functionality added to Flash MX will require the Flash 6 player in order to be viewed by a web user. Whether you utilize any of these new technology features is entirely up to the developer.
