my gripes with Flash MX vs. Livemotion 2 is its poor photoshop support. Seeing as the whole world uses Photoshop, why couldn't Macromedia build more support for .psd/.ai imports? Sure syntax highlighting and code-guessing is great but let's be more realistic here. =(

Another bonus for Livemotion 2 is its transferable/interuseable Styles support. You can export animation styles and scripts to other objects as opposed to copy/paste within each movieclip object in Flash.

Sure Macromedia will always be one step ahead of the competition, but cross-product integration is always top priority in my book. The 3d community is already realizing this.

Sorry, I don't like LiveMotion. (Maybe that's cause I'm using Flash since version 2) I'm absolutly happy with the product from Macromedia, especially now with the coming release of Flash MX.

Well, I just downloaded the trial version ov Livemotion a few days ago. I imported an Illustrator file and was wondering why it didn’t import the layers like AfterEffects does until I found the "Convert into Objects" command but that isn't as good. I tried to make a simple animation (Flash and Gif versions) of this a (.AI) Logo but I soon resorted to flash, which made it simple. I think Livemotion is still worth digging deeper into and it might be a nice app once you get used to it.

One thing it has got going for it is the ability to import AfterEffects projects directly although I tried this and it looked pretty weird once Livemotion got rid of the AE native & 3rd party effects it couldn't read.

I still need to spend more time using it to really say if Livemotion is any good. If you really want to use a good (I mean Awesome) program that can import .swf, Maya, 3DS Max, Photoshop layers, Illustrator layers and many more then you can't go past AfterEffects really.

True. Livemotion is really just a watered-down After Effects w/ Actionscript support, and other Flash subleties. =], which makes it great for anyone already familiar w/ how the After Effects timeline works and peruses Photoshop on a day-to-day basis.

    YOU'RE MISSING THE POINT

You people are overlooking that Adobe is NOT COPYING FLASH. They are re-inventing the way .swf animation "SHOULD HAVE BEEN" and could have been if it was, but it wasn't.

For example even LM1 has the ability to "animate ALL ATTRIBUTES of EVERY OBJECT for ANY KEYFRAME of that object."

Flash is nowhere near that since it is layer-based and LiveMotion is Time-Based.

Big FUNDAMENTAL DIFFERENCES. Don't be over simple about this issue.

    Thank you Adobe !!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Macromedia, for making Adobe work even harder on the new version.

    yep yep

right on uri! you have to remember though, 85% of the people behind flashkit are in cahoots with macromedia. i mean, look how bleak and promarketive their responses are,

    "I tried livemotion 2, I hated it.
I've been using flash since version 2, and I love it!"

sounds like a diet plan commercial, and it's nice how they removed the privileges from my mojon grande account. s i g h

I take it that you did not read your agreement, did you? the people talking about warez and illegally obtained betas are either: breaking the rules under which you signed up here, or they are breaking their legally binding non-disclosure agreement or the illegally obtained stolen goods, i.e warez.

and as a corporate forum, with rules it can enforce are the same rules that you signed up here under... maybe you should have read it before you signed up perhaps.

simple and plain. you gave up certain rights of speech - no porn, warez (via copyright material), nor offending remarks - when you signed up here.

You have to understand that this is a great community, for the most part, and if you use warez, just do not talk about it. Why would you want to make it public information that you are breaking the law anyhow?

That's not too smart if you ask me.

Simply put, the rules are laid out in the beginning, YOU click on the AGREE button, nobody makes you. So, just abide by the rules that you agree to.

Think about it, if a cop just hears you talking about robbing a bank, or better yet, they have it in a typed forum that you are going to do it, you can be arrested. Same with this bud!

Flashkit does not want to be a snare-trap for the FBI to come bust people, because then the user-base will drop considerably, just out of fear alone, even if people have not done anything wrong.

These guys have worked too hard to supply us with a free community, just do not jeppardize it all.

    Simple enough?

    cool.

come tomorrow, I won't care who talks about the program and asks questions. hell, you'd prob be asking/answering questions alongside me tomorrow when I get to finally download it from Macromedia.

however, the anti-porn/warez aspect will still remain in effect even after tomorrow.
