Sorry for asking what is probably the simplest question on the boards...

I have a movie where I have modified instances of text symbols to make them buttons. I know that usually when you make text into a button, only the actual text is active so I put a rectangle behind the text (in the same colour as the movie so it is invisible) to make it so that peopl ecould click around text too.

Unfortunately, now the text isnt active - so if someone tries to click on the letters, although it looks active (ie the hand symbol appears) you cant click - works off the text fine.

I have grouped the text and rectagle but doesnt fix problem...

What should I do so that text and area behind it are active and work??

    thanks for any help

    Sonia

no, what you do is go into your button and go to the "hit" frame and put a big square around your text there.. This square will be invisible to the user.. but will expand the hit area
