    Ok here we go

    1) Can you get a Frame view (a la Flash)

    2) Is there a Transform Effect for Text (for custom text effects)

    3) Can you export and edit in Flash?

    4) Can you do Custom Actions? (Actionscript?)

    5) What can you import? (jpg, png, etc?)

...not sure if its what Im looking for...I really like swish ....

    To answer your questions;

    1. Yes- Kool Moves only has Frame views. This is where it is diffrent than Flash, Live Motion, and Swish. You draw your shapes in one frame and then copy them to the new frame and the program creates the "Tween" frames for you (See the online demo). You then can view the tweens and convert them into Key Frames or delete them depending on what you are doing.

    2. Yes- Its in the Libraries selection. You can also edit the effects after you have used them or you can create your effects from scratch- Something that Swish will not allow you to do.

    3. Yes you can import the SWF files into FLASH. You can also load movies into Kool Moves as SWF files so that means that you can use Swish with Kool Moves.

    4. It apears, at this time, that Kool Moves supports the same actions as Swish.

    5. In rasters, at this time, BMP import as either a background or as a shape fill. In vectors WMF. You cannot import any vector shapes into Swish.

Swish, is a good program on its own merit. I would not compare it to Kool Moves becuase it only handles text and text gliffs where as Kool Moves is geared more towards animation.

To be honest becuase Swish can be used in Kool Moves I would suggest owning both programs.

I would also like to point out that the trail version of Kool Moves is free and can be downloaded in less than 5 min using a dial up modem.

Go see for yourself what Kool Moves can do.

I assume you mean a table-like display of objects running vertically and frames running horizontally. I plan on implementing something along those lines but the metaphor has a serious problem when there are hundreds of shapes.

    Smile Just got Kool Moves

Have no Idea what I am doing with this program. I think it's cool though that you can use load movie func with Kool for Swish. If any one has a good tut site in mind for me I would be grateful to you for pointing me in the right direction.

Swish user. This is what I created with Swish but found it's limits to be constraining to the fullness of this project and one other project like it. I am having to use Swish and Flash 4 in conjunction with one another.

This is pain in the !@#!@# UMMMM.

Go to my web site and you will see what I'm talking about. goto the freebies page and scroll to the bottom of the page. Designz By Brian
