Have fun...if you enjoy tweaking OS's, you can get it to run perfectly...otherwise.

i just got win xp pro, and with 5 people in the family, it makes it really easy to keep organized. i don't know what tweaking you have done, but i don't see anything wrong with it.

How do I make it use less ram??

On the topic of tweaking...if you have a dial-up modem, make sure you turn off "Enable Hardware Compression" this way it will just use software compression which works a lot better...right now I am attaning compression rates of up to 50-70% on standard webpages.

No, not with XP. Cut Microsoft a break. XP is a fine addition to the Windows family. In fact, scratch that, 2000 was really nice too. People need to give MS credit when it is deserved.

If people were to actually try it before commenting on it, they would see that XP never crashes. Sure, individual programs may crash from time to time, but XP is stable as hell.

    5 months - no crashes.
    Runs 24/7.
Only ever rebooted it after installing software.
