    Lightbulb

    Hello,
was wondering if a senior member or person fluent in flash could tell me whats an average size .swf file. Or approx. what is a good file size to load without a preloader and if a preoader is needed which I understand is 85 kb what is to much for a person to wait for in KB size?
    any help
    thanks

it all depends on connection speeds

if most of your clients have a broadband connection then you can go a little over 85k without having an urgent need for a preloader, stretch it to several hundred

if its just being viewed by the general public, and a large amount will be on dial up you will need a preloader for anything near 85k

My intros are usualy 250k-300k. Sites a bit smaller, but I agree with Jason, 500k+ and you get a bit bored...

make sure you keep the pictures to a minimum, or else the size goes wayyyy up

Also, try and make actual audio stream, rather than have to load the whole thing.
