Hey all,
I am new to the swift 3D game,
I am 17 and trying to make a movie in swift 3D.
I am wondering how i would make a 3D city..
Do you use other tools other than swift 3D to make
objects .etc?
And is there any sites that have downloadable swift 3D
models?
What technicques are good to use?
and is there any turorials about making models appart from
the standard objects in swift 3d?
Any other info waould be awsome...
Thanks very much

this would be my approach for doing it in swift 3d.
i'd first draw a grid in flash for however many city blocks i wanted. make it roads....that is, not just single lines....double lines. export the image as eps. then import in swift 3d. now you have a grid on which to base you construction. scale the grid so it fits each sqaure grid in swift. add a plane at the same level of your grid for the ground. now start putting rectangles on the floor. the reason for having your grid scaled as before is you can easily type in integer values to move your rectangles around and give them easy value widths and lengths. add detail to the buildings by adding more rectangles and other primitives. perhaps make that planetarium with a sphere put on a rectanglar base for example. then animate a camera through your city scene and you have it.
here's my fav models link:

sorry, can't do it easily in swift 3d. they don't have textures, which is what you're looking for. what you need if you want to get into textures is a higher end 3d program like 3d studio max or lightwave, etc etc.
